Amerisure is recruiting for a Manager, Risk Management/Loss Control to join our team in the west region. This role can work hybrid if near a local office in Chicago IL, St. Louis MO, Phoenix AZ, Dallas TX, or be remote in other locations within these states.

Position Summary:

Collaborate with designated cross-functional leadership teams to cultivate and strengthen agency relationships, overseeing the execution of operational plans within the region. Provide strategic leadership in directing risk management operations across the assigned territory, ensuring the achievement of operational and departmental performance objectives. Manage and oversee the comprehensive risk management operations in the designated areas, managing a team of skilled risk management professionals to drive organizational success.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, train, provide performance feedback and assign duties of direct reports to ensure productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Actively engage in talent development with direct reports and others within the organization.
  • Responsible for identifying, recruiting, and hiring high-potential candidates.
  • Advance and support the Partners for Success strategy by enhancing the relationship between our agencies, their clients, and Amerisure.
  • Identify, develop, and deliver customized, innovative, and creative risk management and analytical services and solutions that benefit agencies and create service value and profitability for Amerisure.
  • Develop and implement service/loss ratio improvement plans by agency/account to align with company profitability goals.
  • Collaborate and coordinate effectively with regional and corporate teams to develop plans and address issues to ensure alignment with the strategic objectives of the organization and the business plans of the region.
  • Identify, develop, and execute plans for operational improvement opportunities via an agile leadership mentality.
  • Independently resolves complex cross-functional matters via collaboration and technical knowledge.
  • Lead and develop/ execute road maps for strategic Expertise specialists to promote and deliver specialization in assigned business segments.
  • Engage with vendors to support our service delivery and risk improvement strategies.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in risk management or related field or equivalent years of experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of safety, risk management, or engineering experience in the commercial insurance industry or other related field
  • 3 years of experience in a leadership role, preferred.
  • Advanced certification and/or degree in insurance, risk management, safety, business operations
  • Excellent project management and budgeting skills with a deadline orientation and focus.
  • High acumen with business computer applications including MS Office products and other industry platforms. This includes virtual meeting and conferencing applications and skills
  • High level of technical expertise in the areas in defined business segments which supports company business strategy.
  • Demonstrated successful ability to build positive relationships and partnerships within department and across the organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to adapt, align, articulate, and execute company strategy and vision along with departmental objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external customers.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and the ability to travel overnight up to 50%
