Job summary

Charles Schwab’s Retail Strategy & Analytics team partners with senior leaders to solve strategic, operational, and analytical challenges for Schwab’s Retail segment. As Manager, Retail Strategy, you will lead initiatives from problem definition to executive recommendation, working closely with senior leaders across the Retail organization.

Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of full-time experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, financial services, or a related strategic function.
  • Proven experience leading or supporting complex strategic initiatives.
  • Ability to frame business questions, develop hypotheses, and craft strategic recommendations.
  • Strong analytical skills, including both quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Experience delivering executive-ready presentations and communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders across functions and levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments with evolving priorities.
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience using AI/productivity tools to improve efficiency.

Charles Schwab's Retail Strategy & Analytics team serves as the internal management consulting organization for the Retail business, Schwab's largest business segment. The team partners with senior leaders to solve complex strategic, operational, and analytical challenges, helping shape the future direction of the Retail organization. The group is recognized as a premier source of leadership talent and a valuable pipeline for future enterprise leaders.

Retail Strategy & Analytics Serves Two Primary Functions
  • Supporting strategic decision-making, business planning, and operational priorities for the Retail Leadership Team
  • Delivering analytical insights and business performance reporting for senior leadership

This opportunity is within the Retail Strategy function, where projects focus on growth strategy, market assessments, competitive analysis, operating model design, organizational effectiveness, M&A evaluations, and enterprise transformation initiatives.

What You'll Do

As a Manager, Retail Strategy, you will lead strategic initiatives from problem definition through executive recommendation while partnering closely with senior leaders across the Retail organization.

Responsibilities Include

  • Conducting and overseeing rigorous quantitative and qualitative analyses

  • Building partnerships and alignment across cross-functional stakeholders
  • Coaching and providing guidance on analytical workstreams and project deliverables
  • Translating ambiguity into structured, actionable plans that drive measurable business outcomes
  • Serving as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on strategic priorities and organizational decisions
  • Leveraging AI and productivity tools to enhance research, analysis, and deliverable quality
What you have
Required Qualifications
  • 3-6 years of full-time experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, financial services, investment banking, or a related strategic business function
  • Proven experience leading or supporting complex strategic problem-solving initiatives
  • Experience framing business questions, developing hypotheses, and creating strategic recommendations
  • Strong analytical skills, including both quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Experience developing and delivering executive-ready presentations and communications
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions and organizational levels
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship building, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments with evolving priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience utilizing AI and productivity tools to improve efficiency, research, analysis, and deliverable quality
  • Strong interest in financial services and alignment with Schwab's values and client-first culture
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within management consulting, corporate strategy, financial services, wealth management, banking, or capital markets
  • Familiarity with financial modeling, valuation methodologies, and investment concepts
  • Experience presenting directly to executive leadership teams
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, or reviewing the work of others
  • Knowledge of operating model design, growth strategy, market assessments, or organizational transformation initiatives
