Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Respiratory Care leader in Peoria, IL to plan, schedule, and oversee twenty-four hour respiratory care services. You will ensure staffing, regulatory compliance, and quality care while coordinating education and new employee orientation. A Bachelor’s degree and IL licensure with NBRC and BLS are required; advanced credentials preferred.

This salaried role involves managing finances, capital, and personnel resources to meet departmental goals and annual business plans.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree from an approved institution.
• License/Certifications: Current Respiratory Care Practitioner license in the State of Illinois.
• License/Certifications: Current NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapy credential if credentialed after July 2002.
• License/Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card.
• Other Licenses/Certifications: Neonatal Pediatric Specialty credential from the NBRC required for Saint Francis Medical Center
• Experience: Professional level of knowledge of practice and theory.
• Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Healthcare, Business or related field
• License/Certifications: Adult Critical Care Specialty credential, Registered Pulmonary Function Technician credential and Asthma Educator- Certified credentials.
• License/Certifications: Neonatal Pediatric Specialty credential from the NBRC preferred for all other locations.
• Other skills/knowledge: Analytical skills necessary to organize and direct the work of others, develop, implement and administer policies, procedures, budgets and respiratory therapy practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, coordinate, direct and evaluate the twenty-four hour operation of personnel engaged in providing diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care throughout the Medical Center.
• Ensure adequate staff coverage for a fluctuating patient census/workload throughout the department.
• Ensure the provision of high quality services and care in accordance with Medical Center and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in the development of, implementing and administering new patient care services to achieve fiscal year business plans.
• Manage financial, capital and human resources of respiratory care section by establishing, implementing and monitoring quality and productivity standards.
• Develop, implement and ensure adherence to policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Medical Center and third-party requirements.
• Coordinate in-house educational in-services and new employee orientation programs. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served.

Expected pay for this position is $42.64 - $56.50/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is a Salaried position.
