The purpose and mission of the Marion County Community Corrections Agency is to improve the lives of citizens in Marion County through community supervision, as an alternative to incarceration, utilizing evidence-based practices and comprehensive case management while cultivating a productive, collaborative, and compliant work environment in order for our workforce to meet the needs of the citizens of Indianapolis and Marion County.
This position is responsible for overseeing and supervising the performance of up to 65 team‑members located at the Duvall Residential Center (DRC). Incumbent in this position ensures accountability and oversight over a work release facility that houses a maximum of 350 residents. Team members are responsible for the supervision of residents, development of case plans, referrals to services and programming, processing arrivals and releases, and general maintenance of the facility. Incumbent is directly responsible for public safety, resident and team‑members safety, team‑members accountability, as well as adherence to evidence‑based practices within the facility. The incumbent will assist the Chief Deputy Director in agency‑wide decision making in addition to providing assistance in the absence of the Chief Deputy Director. The incumbent will have wide latitude to make decisions related to public safety, team‑members safety, combined with resident safety and accountability for records management, maintenance and retention, dissemination of customer information and administrative services. The incumbent operates within a wide range of discretion on matters such as hiring and terminations. Incumbent can deviate from standards as established within the appropriate policies, procedures and laws under their control. Ability to effectively identify and evaluate available data and to exercise sound judgment. Incumbent is responsible for the productivity of team members and cost effectiveness of programs. Incumbent has the freedom to use judgment while assisting in policy formulation and in all types of negotiations. Position is required to be on call 24‑hours even (7) days a week and participate in a rotating schedule. Position reports to the Chief Deputy Director.

Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Business Management, or related field and eight (8) years of experience in the criminal justice field. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required, in the absence of a college degree. Ability to establish and maintain effective organizational and public relations. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must be skilled in establishing cost effective programs and quality control. Must have knowledge and a proven track record in leadership, management, contracts, personnel and process performance measurement, investigative principles and practices used in insuring compliance with appropriate state and federal laws. Must know the regulations and requirements of court evidence. Must interface with the public regarding procedures. Must be able to interpret and explain court decisions to clients, others, municipal boards, committees, and managers. Emotional intelligence when dealing with people of all backgrounds. Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
