The Opportunity

1. Manage a team of Business Intelligence Engineers and Data Scientists in reporting tasks, including dashboards, benchmarking, data extraction/logic, and data science models.
2. Oversee the collection, approval, development, and communication/training of data product enhancement requests.
3. Lead, review, and direct team work to meet program initiatives, operational plans, and results within schedule and budget.
4. Provide performance feedback, recognition, rewards, and disciplinary actions with support from People Operations.
5. Create a positive work environment to train and develop the team, emphasizing understanding of policies, procedures, and customer service.
6. Mentor and coach team members to enhance competencies.
7. Participate in hiring, firing, promotion, performance, and rewards decisions for direct reports.
8. Prioritize development efforts with the Director of Business Intelligence and communicate with stakeholders.
9. Balance customer, business, and stakeholder needs with technical capabilities, providing recommendations amidst uncertainty.
10. Facilitate discussions to develop business requirements and user stories, interpreting needs to design effective workflows or products.
11. Collaborate with technical teams, groom backlogs, and resolve roadblocks.
12. Manage documentation and issue tracking, create training content, and support user adoption.
13. Promote products by demonstrating value to stakeholders and supporting the user community.
14. Become a subject matter expert in data sources and participate in system upgrades/migrations, troubleshooting issues, and providing updates.
15. Build and maintain relationships with business stakeholders and other ITS teams.
16. Influence and collaborate with leadership, presenting and securing approvals as needed.
17. Work with Physician Leadership and Operations to co-design data products and identify opportunities for leveraging data sources.
18. Develop prototypes using Tableau, gather feedback, and produce documentation for production.
19. Stay informed of industry best practices in analytics, BI, and data science.

Required Experience and Competencies

1. Master's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a similar field.
2. 6+ years of data science experience with Python, machine learning, and data warehouses.
3. 2+ years of development experience with Tableau and BI software.
4. Proficiency in SQL, Python, Power BI, and Tableau.
5. Strong experience with ETL processes and database management.
6. Development experience with AI or ChatGPT applications is preferred.
7. Healthcare experience with physicians is preferred.
8. Experience working in an Agile environment and knowledge of Cloud Technologies are preferred.
9. Understanding of healthcare nomenclature and hospital quality measures is preferred.
10. Ability to communicate technical solutions effectively to diverse audiences.
11. Excellent management, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
12. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
13. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize.
14. Ability to quickly learn new technologies and translate business needs into data models.
