Job summary

HelloFresh in Chicago is seeking a Manager of Reliability Engineering to lead maintenance and reliability across facilities. You will partner with leadership to set the maintenance roadmap, drive lifecycle improvements, and ensure efficient operations on the shop floor with hands-on leadership.

You will oversee a team of technicians, coordinate with external vendors, and enforce safety and regulatory compliance in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience managing facilities maintenance/operations and reliability within the Food/Beverage/Perishables/Distribution industry.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
• Experience spending most time on the shop floor and working directly with all staff levels.
• High integrity and ethics with excellent follow-through.
• Comfortable in a start-up environment with ambiguity and change.
• Effective communicator with employees, direct reports, cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
• OSHA regulations knowledge; OSHA certification a plus.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, automation and refrigeration systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, manuals and schematics.
• Comfortable working in cold environments (40F).
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays and/or nights.

• Mentor and coach reliability team members; foster positive team dynamics.
• Manage outside vendors for reliability projects and root cause analysis.
• Ensure maintenance regulations are followed.
• Maintain updated list of asset contractors for M&RE emergency repairs.

Job Snapshot

As the Reliability Manager, you will work with maintenance and reliability staff—such as the planner/scheduler, inventory specialist, technicians and industrial refrigeration technicians— for your assigned buildings. Additionally, you will take direct ownership of all maintenance projects involving life cycle assessments and change outs. This will include but not limited to utility expansion/modification, new equipment installation in coordination with engineering, and refrigeration system projects. You will take a hands‑on approach to leadership, effectively engaging, motivating, and coaching MRE team members. Partnering with the MRE senior leadership team, you will define, develop and deliver the facilities maintenance roadmap and set the standard for operational efficiency for your fulfillment center.

• Motivate, engage, coach, and inspire all reliability team members and create a positive team dynamic that encourages all employees to provide feedback and drive change from within
• Manage outside vendors for reliability projects and look to Root Cause.
• Ensure that maintenance regulations are followed
• Maintain a current list of asset contractors to ensure that all M&RE emergency repairs are handled in a timely manner
• Identify problems, develop Root Cause analysis and brainstorm improvement ideas for the fulfillment center

Texas Pay Range $77,175—$94,500 USD

Newark, NJ Pay Range $88,935—$108,900 USD

Arizona Pay Range $77,175—$94,500 USD

Illinois Pay Range $83,055—$101,700 USD
