Job description

The Skoll Foundation is hiring a Manager, Registration & Operations based in Washington, DC. This role is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, including Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday required onsite in the Washington, DC office.

The Skoll Foundation is a private grantmaking foundation that seeks to build a sustainable world of peace and prosperity for all by investing in, connecting, and championing social entrepreneurs and other social innovators. Together, we advance bold and equitable solutions to the world's most pressing problems.

The Manager, Registration & Operations is a critical member of the Skoll Convenings team, responsible for the end‑to‑end delegate curation and registration experience across all Skoll‑hosted convenings — with a primary focus on the Skoll World Forum. This role bridges strategic planning and on‑the‑ground execution: owning the technical build and rollout of tech systems, managing the SWF registration experience from invitation through onsite arrival, and providing meaningful production and operations support to the team.

Reporting to the Associate Director & Producer, Convenings, the Manager works cross‑functionally with IT, Communications, Community, and external partners to deliver a seamless, high‑quality delegate experience. This role also stewards the event technology stack and Salesforce CRM for convenings, driving process improvements that strengthen the team’s operational foundation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delegate Curation & Registration (50%)
    • Develop delegate curation and invitation criteria annually; enforce deadlines for staff and external referrals; establish and monitor curation goals.
    • Oversee end‑to‑end registration platform design, build, and rollout in partnership with IT — including Salesforce integration, form design, testing, training, and troubleshooting.
    • Own on‑site registration and badging process; manage registration team and seasonal contractors.
    • Develop streamlined and user‑friendly registration processes for special delegate groups (e.g., Global Access Pathways, funder bundles).
  • Event Operations & Production Support (15%)
    • Support various event production logistics; interface with external production partners and vendors on key milestones.
    • Coordinate staff travel and accommodation for SWF and other Skoll convenings (e.g., UNGA).
    • Support vendor contracting processes and invoice management.
    • Provide data research and analysis for event‑related projects; support event security coordination.
  • Delegate Experience (15%)
    • Coordinate across teams to develop SWF resources including website content, Delegate Guide, staff role assignments, etc.
    • Manage seating plans for New Theatre and other SWF venues.
  • Tech & Systems (20%)
    • Steward event tech content and data: microsite/schedule content, mobile app integration, registration platform configuration; IT owns development and infrastructure.
    • Drive internal process improvements across registration and operations workflows.
    • Manage cross‑departmental collaboration systems for SWF.
    • Oversee registration@skoll.org and convenings@skoll.org inboxes.
    • Maintain Salesforce CRM for convenings: campaigns, contacts, data cleansing, dashboards.
    • Support event communications with the Communications team.
Required Education and Experience
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in event operations, registration management, or program coordination.
  • Demonstrated experience with event registration systems, attendee management, and/or CRM platforms — Salesforce strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Excellent client‑facing skills; composure and professionalism in high‑pressure environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High proficiency with Salesforce, Asana, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including extended onsite time at the Skoll World Forum in Oxford, UK.
  • Able to work onsite three days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, in Washington, DC, and within fifty miles of the Skoll office. Locational proximity of fifty miles or closer to the Washington, DC office is required for consideration.
Preferred Education & Experience
  • Direct experience within philanthropy, social entrepreneurship, global issues, or the social sector.
  • Experience with CVENT or similar event registration platforms in a large‑scale convening context.
  • Experience supporting event budget management and vendor coordination.
Cultural Alignment
  • Enthusiastic and flexible collaborator with humility, a positive demeanor, and exceptional service orientation, ready to roll up sleeves and collaborate across the Foundation’s small team.
  • A keen sense of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to creating a positive organizational culture.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment and adaptable to change.
  • Interest in social innovation and alignment with the Skoll Foundation’s mission to catalyze transformational social change.
