Objective

The Regional Business Director, Elios is a field-based commercial leader responsible for driving regional performance, accelerating market adoption, and leading a team of experienced sales professionals within a defined geography. This role is critical to the successful launch and expansion of the Elios franchise and requires a leader who can translate strategy into execution, build momentum in the field, and deliver consistent commercial results in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

The Regional Business Director will be expected to lead from the front — developing talent, cultivating key customer relationships, and creating a culture of accountability, urgency, and performance. The ideal candidate will bring strong ophthalmic surgical industry experience, proven sales leadership capabilities, and a track record of building business in competitive, procedure-driven markets.

This position is well suited for a commercially minded leader who thrives in an entrepreneurial setting, embraces change, and is energized by the opportunity to help scale an innovative platform in glaucoma and ophthalmic surgery.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of seasoned sales representatives across an assigned region to achieve and exceed commercial objectives.
  • Drive regional execution of business strategy to accelerate adoption, procedural utilization, and revenue growth for the Elios platform.
  • Establish a high-performance culture centered on accountability, disciplined execution, collaboration, and winning in the marketplace.
  • Partner closely with direct reports in the field to strengthen account penetration, advance strategic opportunities, and improve selling effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key ophthalmic surgeons, ASC leaders, practice administrators, and other decision-makers across the region.
  • Identify market opportunities, competitive threats, and customer needs, and translate insights into actionable regional plans.
  • Ensure excellence in forecasting, territory planning, opportunity management, and overall business rigor.
  • Serve as a key commercial leader in support of product adoption, customer experience, and long-term franchise growth.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners, including Marketing, Medical Affairs, Reimbursement, Clinical, and Sales Training, to support execution and market development.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent while raising the performance bar across the region.
  • Maintain strong clinical, procedural, and market knowledge within ophthalmic surgery, with particular emphasis on glaucoma and MIGS.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with applicable company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of ophthalmic surgical industry experience required.
  • Prior sales leadership experience preferred, including experience managing experienced or high-performing sales professionals.
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience in glaucoma and MIGS
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering strong commercial results and driving growth in a competitive market.
  • Proven ability to coach, motivate, and develop sales talent in a performance-driven environment.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and executional discipline.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
  • Ability to travel extensively within the assigned geography.
  • Experience supporting the launch or scale-up of innovative surgical technology.
  • Strong understanding of procedure-based selling and the ophthalmic surgical customer landscape particularly in the MIGS category.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving commercial environment.
  • Executive presence and confidence in engaging both internal leadership and external customers.
