Job description

Position Summary

WashU's Division of Student Success seeks an entry level recreational professional for the position of Manager, Recreation Services. The Division of Student Success advances the educational mission of the university through resources and experiences outside the classroom that prepare our students for lifelong success. This position will support the front‑line, customer‑facing operations of the Summers Recreation Center, including greeting and directing facility members and visitors, executing membership transactions and deposits, and training and supervising student workers. The individual will also maintain the online profiles of the Office of Recreation, including the website, mobile app, and social media channels.

Working Hours

Schedule: Sunday–Thursday. Hours: 37.5.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide a professional presence at the main entrance to the Athletics & Recreation Department. Greet members and visitors, answer phone calls, provide facility tours, and enforce department and facility policies.
  • Professionally execute membership transactions for the Summers Recreation Center and complete daily revenue deposits.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate 30‑40 student workers at the membership desk.
  • Manage the website, mobile app, and social media channels for the Office of Recreation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to maintain flexible work hours and provide on‑site coverage during university holidays and breaks.
Education

Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and/or experience.

Certifications / Professional Licenses

First Aid CPR/AED – American Red Cross.

Experience

Customer Service – 2 years.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree and four years of customer service experience.
  • Experience using Innosoft Fusion or a related member management system.
  • Supervisory experience managing and developing diverse student populations.
  • Ability to maintain flexible work hours and provide on‑site coverage during holidays and breaks.
