Overview
Job Summary
Manages the day to day operations for Radiology scheduling. Includes management of a team of Radiology Schedulers, serving as a liaison between scheduling and the various facility managers and the referring physicians and contributing to the development and implementation of business processes and goals related to scheduling. Works closely with the pre-services team to manage the process for pre-authorization. Basic functions and responsibilities include insuring all radiology outpatient exams are scheduled in a timely manner, managing staffing to meet call hold time targets and problem resolution.
Essential Functions
Physical Requirements
Predominantly office environment with filing, typing and statistical management with occasional exposure to the technical areas of the department. Works in multiple facilities. Must be able to effectively communicate with physicians, nurses, technical staff, ancillary staff, engineers, user departments, and outside vendors. Works with computers, calculators, Radiology Information System, Picture Archiving and Communications Systems. Finger dexterity required. Each employee has the responsibility to work in a safe manner.
Education, Experience and Certifications
High School graduate or equivalent required. Three years of previous leadership experience required, 5 years preferred. Bachelor of Science degree in a related field or completion of an AMA approved School of Radiological Technology and certification by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists preferred.
