Job summary

Munson Healthcare in Traverse City, MI invites an experienced leader to head the Radiation Oncology department. You will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure safe, efficient patient care, and coordinate with physicians, nurses, physicists, dosimetrists, therapists, and support staff.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy or related field, 3+ years in Radiation Oncology, and 2+ years in leadership. Master’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of Radiation Oncology experience required.
  • Current registration, certification, or board credentials in a radiation specialty required.
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership, supervisory, or management experience required.
  • Experience overseeing Radiation Oncology department operations and ensuring safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Knowledge of Radiation Oncology practices, billing and coding, healthcare finance, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements.
  • Strong technical expertise preferred.

  • Supervise, develop, and manage staff, including hiring, scheduling, performance evaluations, timekeeping, and employee relations.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary team activities with physicians, nurses, physicists, dosimetrists, therapists, and support staff to optimize patient care delivery.
  • Oversee department quality assurance, equipment maintenance, supply management, patient scheduling, billing activities, and operational workflows.
  • Develop and implement departmental policies, maintain regulatory and operational records, and collaborate on strategic planning and capital equipment purchases.
