Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or equivalent; minimum ten years of experience in Quality or related field with 3–5 years in leadership roles.
  • ASQ certification is generally required.
  • Experience leading QA teams and interfacing with internal/external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide team leadership to facilitate quality management for product and process quality.
  • Coach and guide the QA team to meet department goals and develop staff.
  • Lead QMS-related audits (ISO, FDA) and drive continuous improvement across the organization.

Overview

The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager is responsible for protecting A-dec’s reputation for reliable, quality dental equipment by ensuring A-dec’s Quality Management System meets or exceeds regulatory, company, and customer requirements. They lead a team of QA Specialists and Engineers to deliver effective quality systems, processes, and insights that drive product and process improvement while balancing quality with productivity.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide team leadership to facilitate efficient and effective support of enterprise quality management for product and process quality.
  • Offer technical guidance and coaching to the team, communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results to ensure department goals are met and promote employee growth.
  • Act as an action-oriented leader with strong execution skills, deeply embedded in daily function and technical execution of quality duties.
  • Manage, support, oversee, and improve A-dec’s Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Actively participate in internal and external audits (ISO, FDA, etc.) to assess QMS effectiveness.
  • Lead departmental and enterprise-level quality initiatives, translating strategic direction into scalable, actionable systems, tools, and processes.
  • Lead process creation and improvements; drive process adoption; operationalize systems and processes across the organization; partner with a broad network of A-dec Engineers and Managers.
  • Develop and maintain metrics to track corporate quality; perform quality data analytics; partner with cross‑functional experts to extract insights, uncover trends, inform decisions, and drive improvements.
  • Serve as an organization-wide technical expert in advanced quality disciplines, applying extensive knowledge of advanced quality techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Drive quality capability development across A-dec through training and established processes such as root‑cause analysis and corrective and preventive action.
  • Foster creation and application of improved quality methods, systems, and solutions to elevate product quality and strengthen market competitiveness.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve quality procedures, workflows, and work instructions to streamline operations and strengthen alignment with the QMS.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of international standards and regulations such as ISO 13485, MDSAP, FDA 21 CFR 820, CMDR SOR/98-282, Medical Device Directive 93/42/EEC, EU Medical Device Regulation 2017/745, and quality concepts (statistical analysis, root‑cause analysis, quality metrics/analytics).
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills for dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of customer focus.
  • Ability to organize, coach, and lead cross‑functional teams; strong organizational and time‑management skills; good judgement using risk‑based decision making.
  • Strong analytical skills, quality system expertise, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications and experience in project and database management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or equivalent; minimum ten years of experience in Quality or related field with 3‑5 years in leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others, support team development, and influence outcomes through effective leadership and collaboration.
  • Generally requires American Society of Quality (ASQ) certification.
