Job summary

HITT Contracting seeks a Manager of Project Accounting to lead a team responsible for project-level financials, revenue recognition, budgeting and reporting. You will ensure GAAP-compliant results, collaborate with auditors, and optimize controls and processes across the business unit.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Finance/Accounting, 5–8 years of accounting experience, and strong leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business; 5–8 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, cost control principles.
• Experience with ERP like JD Edwards or similar; analytical/B.I. tools.

Responsibilities

This individual will report to the Director of Project Accounting and is responsible for reporting revenue and profit, forecasting, cash flow and risk, as well as the overall health of the project accounting teams. ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the accurate reporting of financial results in accordance with GAAP and controls including revenue, profit and cash flowPrepare, distribute and maintain project-related financial reportsCompile, analyze, and report data at the business unit levelContinually assess and improve systems and manual processes related to project accountingKnowledge of internal controls (and their purpose) and ability to recommend changes and additions to policies / processes as neededCommunicate, model and enforce Project Accounting and Company Policies and ProceduresServe as lead POC for internal audit; compile information for internal and external auditors, as requiredCommunicates any potential risk to the Director and aboveManage a forward-thinking view of departmental workload and capacity to drive optimum staff utilization and make staffing recommendations accordinglyTrain and support Accounting Associate & Senior Associate StaffOther duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business with strong Accounting experience preferred.Five (5) to eight (8) years of accounting experienceExperience with JD Edwards or other comparable ERP solution including analytical tools (BI)Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Demonstrated ability to manage projects from concept to implementationGood verbal and written communication skills, including ability to present and speak in publicAbility to lead and mentor team members.Ability to influence change, efficiency and morale among team members.Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with othersAbility to lift boxes weighing up to 30 poundsIn accordance with Virginia Senate Bill 215 (SB 215), the base salary range for this position is:$95,000.00 - $140,000.00Compensation in other cities and states may vary.
