Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Program Manager 3 . This position will be located in Huntsville, AL.

This position is contingent on program award anticipated 2026.
What You Will Get To Do:
  • Direct all activities of the IPT through completion, ensuring cost, schedule, and technical performance objectives are met.

  • Establish and maintain an efficient IPT organizational structure to achieve program goals.

  • Work collaboratively with executive leadership and assigned staff to develop and communicate a clear organizational vision and strategic roadmap.

  • Cultivate and maintain customer relationships to enhance intimacy and identify new business opportunities within the customer community.

  • Support contract negotiations, including contract scope, changes, budgets, milestones, and key terms and conditions to align with program objectives.

  • Define and manage program requirements, baselines, master plans, and schedules using Earned Value Management (EVM) or equivalent cost and schedule control methodologies.

  • Identify, allocate, and manage program resources including workforce planning, suppliers, and government-furnished equipment/information to meet program objectives.

  • Perform proactive risk and opportunity management including identification, mitigation, reporting, and realization to minimize program impacts.

  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations to customers, executive management, and stakeholders on program status, performance, and strategy.

  • Ensure compliance with internal processes, policies, contract scope, and applicable industry standards, managing changes through control board processes.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with10 years of relevant experience, OR a Master’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience supporting U.S. Government contracts and/or program management or an additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of degree

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active US Government Secret Clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret Clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.

  • Minimum of four years leading performance of tasks on schedule, at cost, achieving all requirements as project lead, integrated program team lead, or cost account manager.

  • Minimum of three years demonstrated success leading high-performance teams or organizations to achieve a common goal.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.

  • Experience leading teams of at least 15 personnel and managing contract scope exceeding $15M.

  • Undergraduate and/or graduate technical degrees in science, mathematics, or engineering from a nationally accredited institution.

  • Experience on cruise missile programs.

  • Demonstrated expertise in capture management, technical performance baselines, requirements management, and earned value management best practices.

Primary Level Salary Range: $184,300.00 – $276,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
