Job summary

Alkegen in the Detroit metro area is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead multiple strategic initiatives across engineering, manufacturing, and operations. You will define objectives, milestones, governance, and ensure teams deliver measurable business value.

The role requires 5+ years in program management, strong leadership, and travel up to 25% to customer locations and R&D sites in Detroit Metro and Buffalo.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; a Master's is a plus.
  • 5+ years of Program Management experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, project management methodologies, and industry best practices.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale, cross-functional programs from concept through execution.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and governance of multiple strategic programs and initiatives.
  • Establish program objectives, success metrics, milestones, dependencies, and risk mitigation plans.
  • Drive alignment across cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of business outcomes.
  • Monitor program health and provide regular status updates to executive leadership.
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and manage a team of Program Managers.
  • Set performance goals and provide ongoing feedback and career development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
  • Partner with senior leadership to translate business strategy into executable program roadmaps.
  • Identify opportunities to improve organizational effectiveness, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Manage program portfolios and prioritize initiatives based on business value and resource availability.
  • Build strong relationships with executives, business leaders, and cross-functional partners.
  • Facilitate decision-making and resolve complex issues and escalations.
  • Ensure clear communication of program objectives, progress, risks, and outcomes.
  • Establish program governance frameworks, processes, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks, dependencies, and resource constraints.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, quality standards, and program management best practices.
  • Drive adoption of program management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Develop scalable processes that improve predictability, transparency, and execution efficiency.
  • Lead retrospectives and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibilities
