Job summary

Asset Reliability Center (ARC) is seeking a Production Manager to lead all production activities within the facility, including planning, scheduling, labor and capacity management, and WIP control. You will directing Shop Managers and cross‑functional teams to maximize safety, quality and productivity while aligning with ERP/SAP systems and production documentation.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in manufacturing or related industrial service environment.
  • Experience with production planning, scheduling, labor and capacity planning, work orders, and MES/ERP.
  • Experience in Quality Management Systems and production reporting using ERP.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, scheduling, coordination and execution of repair, remanufacturing, manufacturing, assembly and testing.
  • Own the facility production schedule; manage WIP, backlog, labor, capacity and resources.
  • Provide leadership to Shop Managers and production personnel; ensure safety, quality and productivity.
  • Maintain ERP system usage to support work orders, BOMs, routings, materials, and documentation.
  • Work cross-functionally to resolve material, technical, quality, and resource constraints.
  • Monitor KPIs and weekly reports on schedule attainment, labor, throughput, and quality; drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop personnel through coaching, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, QMS requirements, engineering standards and procedures.

Asset Reliability Center (ARC) is a rig equipment manufacturing company specializing in top drives and automated pipe handling equipment

Brief Description:

The Production Manager is responsible for leading production activities at the Asset Reliability Center (ARC), including planning, scheduling, labor and capacity management, Work in Process (WIP), and overall shop performance.

This role provides leadership to Shop Managers and assigned production personnel while working with supporting departments to resolve constraints, improve production flow, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality and business requirements.

Working knowledge of manufacturing, ERP systems, and oilfield equipment such as top drives, mud pumps, automated catwalks, and iron roughnecks is preferred.

This role performs under the general direction of the Sr Tech Services Manager.

Detailed Description:
  • Lead the planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution of repair, remanufacturing, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and other production activities within the facility.
  • Own the facility production schedule and manage priorities, Work in Process (WIP), backlog, labor, capacity, and resource requirements to support current and forecasted business demand.
  • Provide leadership and direction to Shop Managers and assigned production personnel, establishing accountability for safety, quality, productivity, schedule performance, labor utilization, and completion of work.
  • Maintain effective use of company production and ERP systems to support work-order execution, BOMs, routings, material requirements, production documentation, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Work cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Warehouse & Inventory, Engineering, Quality, Technical Services, and other supporting functions to resolve material, technical, quality, documentation, and resource constraints affecting production.
  • Monitor production performance and establish appropriate KPIs and weekly management reporting related to schedule attainment, labor performance, throughput, WIP, backlog, quality, and other applicable measures.
  • Lead continuous-improvement activities focused on production flow, labor efficiency, standardized work, productivity, quality, cost, and reduction of non-value-added activities.
  • Develop Shop Managers and production personnel through coaching, accountability, training, performance management, and professional development.
  • Ensure production activities comply with applicable company safety policies, Quality Management System requirements, engineering requirements, work instructions, and established procedures.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Sr. Technical Services Manager.
Job Requirements:
  • Proven experience in production management, manufacturing management, shop management, production planning, or a similar industrial leadership role.
  • Strong working knowledge of manufacturing, repair/remanufacturing, production scheduling, labor and capacity planning, and manufacturing execution.
  • Ability to understand production/work orders, Bills of Material (BOMs), routings, engineering drawings, work instructions, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience using ERP systems to support production planning, scheduling, execution, and reporting; SAP experience is preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to establish priorities, develop personnel, maintain accountability, and lead multiple production teams or work areas.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to use production data to make fact-based decisions.
  • Ability to think strategically, translate business requirements into actionable plans, and make timely decisions in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively with employees, management, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team while managing multiple priorities and time-sensitive production requirements.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and applicable production, reporting, and business systems.
  • Ability to work extended schedules and travel to company, supplier, customer, or field locations as business requirements dictate.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible experience in manufacturing, repair, remanufacturing, fabrication, or a related industrial service environment.
  • Three (3) or more years of leadership, supervision, production management, shop management, or production-planning experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with production planning, scheduling, labor and capacity planning, work orders, and manufacturing execution
  • Experience using ERP systems within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience working within a formal Quality Management System
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to meet Company vehicle eligibility requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Eight (8) or more years of experience within manufacturing, fabrication, repair/remanufacturing, industrial service, drilling, or the oilfield-service industry.
  • Five (5) or more years of production, manufacturing, shop, or operations leadership experience.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems supporting production planning, work orders, BOMs, routings, capacity planning, or manufacturing execution.
  • Working knowledge of oilfield equipment including top drives, mud pumps, automated catwalk systems, iron roughnecks/make-break equipment, or related drilling equipment.
  • Knowledge of machining, fabrication, assembly, testing, repair, and remanufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of API Q1, API 8C, ISO 9001, or similar Quality Management Systems
  • Experience managing Field Service technicians, technician dispatch, and technical training or qualification programs
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects involving Production, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Technical Services, or other supporting functions.
Additional Details:

The Production Manager works in both office and shop environments and is expected to maintain a strong commitment to safety for employees, customers, and third parties. The position requires regular exposure to varying weather conditions, moving mechanical equipment, elevated noise levels, vibration, electrical energy, construction equipment, hazardous materials, fumes, and airborne particles. Compliance with all Company safety policies and the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times. Some travel may be required.
