Job summary

Reser's Fine Foods is seeking a Production Manager to direct, coordinate, and manage production activities at the Roanoke Rapids facility. The role reports to the Plant Manager and requires strong leadership to guide Supervisor teams while upholding safety and GMP standards.

The position involves planning schedules, hiring and training production staff, maintaining records, and ensuring food safety throughout operations; overtime and weekend shifts may be required to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Basic PC skills are required.
• Proficient in word processing and spreadsheets.
• English/Spanish bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, coaching, and development for Supervisor team members.
• Plans and establishes work schedules, and assignments to meet production goals.
• Hires, trains, and evaluates production personnel.
• Prepares and maintains production reports and personnel records.
• Monitors production tracking and quality control systems.
• Reviews operations and confers with administrative staff to resolve procedural problems.
• Provides leadership to meet company safety guidelines and GMPs.
• Regular attendance and punctuality is required.
• Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to food safety standards and GMPs.
• Verify sanitation and hygiene protocols are followed by all production personnel.
• Report and escalate any food safety concerns to Plant Manager and QA.
• Support food safety audits and assist in implementing corrective actions.
• Train and coach team members on food safety procedures and regulatory compliance.

Job Summary

• 5. Monitors production tracking and quality control systems.
• 6. Reviews operations and confers with administrative staff to resolve procedural problems.
• 7. Provides leadership to meet company safety guidelines and Good Manufacturing Practices
• 8. Regular attendance and punctuality is required due to working with people, items and equipment that are at the facility
• 9. Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to food safety standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• 10. Verify that sanitation and hygiene protocols are followed by all production personnel.
• 11. Report and escalate any food safety concerns or deviations promptly to Plant Manager and Quality Assurance.
• 12. Support food safety audits and assist in implementing corrective actions as needed.
• 13. Train and coach team members on food safety procedures and regulatory compliance.

Education and Experience

• 5-10 years manufacturing experience in the food industry is required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Some college is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Basic PC skills are required.
• Proficient in word processing and spreadsheets.
• English/Spanish bilingual a plus.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

• Food manufacturing plant.
• The environment may be wet or dry and temperatures may range from 25F to 110F.
• Lifting, kneeling, and bending with packages in excess of 50 lbs.
• Travel up to 10% of the time.
• Production demands may require overtime and/or evening or weekend scheduling.
