Job summary

Manager – Product & Technology, Technology Industry Group (TIG)- Private Equity

The firm is expanding its Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) – Technology Industry Group (TIG) team. Overview

In this role, you will lead product and technology evaluations across the deal and company lifecycle, from pre‑deal technology, operational, and synergy reviews through ‘Day‑1’ planning, post‑deal implementations, and performance improvement. Projects often involve assessing product and technology functions—including product roadmaps, architecture, and SDLC processes—to uncover opportunities for value creation.

Responsibilities
  • Assess product strategy, roadmap, and portfolio mix to ensure alignment with business objectives and market opportunities, identifying gaps, redundancies, and opportunities for rationalization or expansion.
  • Complete product feature parity assessments and develop recommended product integration strategy for M&A activity.
  • Evaluate product team structures, roles, and interaction models to recommend improvements for scaling and efficiency.
  • Evaluate KPIs, OKRs, and analytics frameworks that measure product success, customer impact, and ROI, ensuring data‑driven decision making.
  • Conduct market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and customer feedback reviews to validate product‑market fit and identify innovation opportunities.

Qualifications
  • 5–9+ years in roles such as Product Manager, Group Product Manager, Director of Product, or R&D Strategy/Operations Lead in mid‑ to large software or semiconductor companies.
  • Exposure to private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, or related transaction/merger integration is a bonus.
  • Proven experience building or evaluating product roadmaps, prioritizing features, and aligning engineering spend with strategic goals.
  • Strong understanding of cross‑functional teamwork required to deliver high‑quality features on time and within scope.
  • Strong system design acumen, with experience leading and evaluating technical and product interviews.
  • Hands‑on knowledge of modern cloud architecture, including containerization, event‑driven systems, streaming data pipelines, and distributed data stores.
  • Ability to analyze R&D spend patterns and link them to innovation or revenue outcomes.
  • Familiarity with Agile SDLC, DevOps practices, and tooling such as CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, SAST/DAST.
  • Deep functional expertise in one or more of the following areas is a bonus: Product or Technical Program Management, CTO advisory, R&D merger integration and carve‑out, SaaS business models, product strategy and performance improvement, private equity advisory around product and R&D functions.
  • Comfortable engaging with senior R&D leadership and articulating technical findings to executive and private equity stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Team‑oriented, adaptable, curious, and a quick learner.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; excellent communication abilities.
  • Willing to travel up to 25%.
Salary and Compensation

The base salary range is $125,000 – $190,000 annually, dependent on education, experience, skills, and geography. A&M offers a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance.
