Team Overview

The Behavioral Data Platform team owns the strategy, governance, and evolution of behavioral data capabilities across the athenahealth platform. The team builds foundational services that capture, govern, and operationalize behavioral data so product teams can understand how customers interact with workflows, features, and AI-enabled experiences.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Behavioral Data Platform, aligning investments with customer needs, business priorities, and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead the development of platform capabilities that support behavioral event collection, instrumentation standards, user journey analysis, experimentation, audience segmentation, and behavioral intelligence.
  • Drive alignment on behavioral measurement strategies, metric definitions, and instrumentation standards to enable consistent analysis and decision‑making across product domains.
  • Partner with product, engineering, analytics, and UX teams to measure workflow effectiveness, feature adoption, customer engagement, and business outcomes.
  • Translate business, customer, and technical requirements into clear epics, user stories, and success criteria while prioritizing platform investments to maximize impact.
  • Establish and monitor platform success metrics, including data quality, instrumentation coverage, platform adoption, experimentation velocity, and business outcomes.
  • Own vendor relationships and commercial strategy for behavioral analytics platforms and tooling, including evaluation, selection, adoption, optimization, and value realization.
  • Lead the modernization of behavioral data collection capabilities, including migration from legacy access‑log‑based approaches to scalable behavioral analytics platforms and instrumentation frameworks.
  • Build alignment across stakeholders and communicate platform strategy, priorities, and outcomes to support adoption, behavior change, and data‑informed decision‑making.
  • Use AI tools and AI‑enabled product capabilities to accelerate behavioral analysis, identify patterns in user behavior and product usage, and improve the quality and speed of product recommendations.
Additional Job Responsibilities
  • Analyze customer behavior, workflow patterns, adoption trends, and product usage data to inform platform investments and prioritization.
  • Partner with governance, privacy, security, and compliance teams to ensure responsible collection and use of behavioral data.
  • Drive adoption of best practices for instrumentation, experimentation, behavioral analytics, and product measurement across teams.
  • Support adoption of behavioral analytics tooling and capabilities across product, UX, analytics, and engineering teams.
  • Lead change management efforts that embed behavioral measurement, experimentation, and data‑informed decision‑making into day‑to‑day workflows.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to establish shared behavioral data standards, measurement frameworks, and success metrics.
  • Stay current on industry trends in behavioral analytics, experimentation, AI/ML, and data platforms, and share relevant learnings across the organization.
Expected Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years of product management experience, including experience leading platform, analytics, data, experimentation, or measurement‑focused initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success defining strategy and delivering platform capabilities that support behavioral analytics, experimentation, data governance, customer insights, or product measurement at scale.
  • Experience working with behavioral analytics and data platforms such as Amplitude, Mixpanel, Pendo, Heap, FullStory, Snowflake, Databricks, Segment, or similar technologies.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and commercial strategy for analytics, experimentation, or behavioral data platforms.
  • Experience navigating data governance, privacy requirements, PHI compliance, and instrumentation standards within regulated industries.
  • Experience partnering with engineering, analytics, data science, UX, and product teams to translate behavioral insights into product improvements and measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills, with the ability to align diverse teams and build consensus across technical and business audiences.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML‑enabled product capabilities and practical experience applying them to behavioral analytics.
  • Experience in healthcare technology, health IT, or healthcare operations.
