Description

In this role, you will work on modernizing our payment stack and orchestrating payment workflows to support a wide range of methods and use cases across the globe.You will closely collaborate with Engineering, Treasury, Legal, and many other teams across Apple.You should combine technical proficiency, a strong sense of user experience, tact, and business insight. You should have phenomenal presentation skills and the ability to drive an impactful vision and requirements that rally the team and delight customers.The ideal candidate understands state-of-the-art architecture, workflows, and functionality at one of the leading global payment service providers (PSPs), and combines payments-specific depth with technical fluency on the engineering side. You should have a track record of independently driving similar modernization efforts in high-throughput, mission-critical payments/PSP environments, and know first-hand what it takes to operate and evolve payment platforms at that scale.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a cross-functional team, including both internal and external stakeholders, to develop strategic product and feature roadmaps.
• Closely partner with Treasury, Finance, Payments, and Privacy Legal to ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Be the internal evangelist, build consensus with executives, colleagues, and external partners.
• Objectively decide between building in-house and leveraging third-party services.
• Define detailed use cases intended for engineering.
• Represent business interests during design and development phases.
• Work with program management to communicate project status, resolve issues, and ensure that high-quality products are delivered on time.
• Nurture and develop the Product Managers on your team.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years managing a team of Technical Product Managers, with a focus on payment services and processing orchestration.
• Direct experience at a leading global payment service provider (PSP) or merchant, with hands-on exposure to state-of-the-art payments platform architecture, workflows, and functionality.
• Track record of independently driving payment modernization initiatives in high-throughput, mission-critical payments/PSP environments.
• Highly skilled at building a strong team culture with a focus on individual growth and development.
• Experience using data and insights to define capabilities at global scale.
• Proficiency with new technologies like AI and Deep Learning, and their practical applications in payments.
• Strong technical background with the ability to engage with engineering teams and understand system-level tradeoffs.
• Fluency with payment ecosystem players' roles and strategies (e.g., e-wallets, issuers, and acquirers).
• Familiarity with global regulatory and mandate trends shaping payments (e.g., SCA, tokenization).
• Ability to synthesize complex topics, drive alignment, and communicate effectively with senior leadership.
• Passionate about user experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and deliver end-to-end payment projects and experiences, from strategy through launch and iteration.
• Proven ability to analyze payment data to drive decisions and identify opportunities for optimization.
• Experience working across multiple product areas within a platform or ecosystem.
• Track record of operational excellence: defining processes, managing program execution, and delivering results with consistency and rigor.
• BA/BS in Business or Computer Science or equivalent experience.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $183,700 and $319,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
