Overview

Mastercard Credit Intelligence is building solutions that help financial institutions assess credit risk, expand responsible access to financing, and grow small and medium-sized business lending. The Access to Capital (A2C) team brings together financial institutions, issuers, capital providers, technology partners, and Mastercard capabilities to create scalable lending opportunities.

All About the Role
  • Lead financial institution pilots and qualified opportunities from concept through implementation, commercialization, and scale.
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with financial institutions, issuers, capital providers, development finance organizations, and ecosystem partners.
  • Partner with global and regional Sales, Account Management, Advisors, and business development teams to identify, shape, qualify, and advance lending opportunities and grow the pipeline.
  • Lead or support client discovery, proposition development, commercial discussions, business cases, and pilot-to-commercial conversion.
  • Apply expertise in commercial or SME lending, credit risk, underwriting, loan origination, servicing, or portfolio management to design practical client solutions.
  • Translate financial institution needs into clear product, data, credit decisioning, underwriting, origination, workflow, implementation, and operational requirements.
  • Translate the A2C and Mastercard Lending Network strategy into scalable operating models and measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Coordinate capital-provider and strategic-partner workstreams, converting ecosystem relationships into executable financial institution opportunities.
  • Lead complex cross-functional work across Product, Sales, Legal, Privacy, Finance, Technology, and regional teams to establish governance, manage dependencies and risks, resolve blockers, and accelerate delivery.
  • Develop trusted executive relationships with financial institutions and ecosystem partners to deepen partnerships, increase adoption, and accelerate commercialization across Mastercard capabilities.
  • Help evolve A2C from pilot validation through live lending and multi-market scale toward the Mastercard Lending Network, including lender onboarding, portfolio monitoring, capital-provider connectivity, and Mastercard-enabled disbursement and repayment capabilities.
  • Support initiatives that expand SME credit availability and drive incremental card issuance opportunities.
All About You
  • Experience in banking, business banking, commercial lending, SME lending, digital lending, credit risk, fintech, or a related financial services environment.
  • Strong understanding of lending products and workflows, including underwriting, risk assessment, credit decisioning, loan origination, servicing, and portfolio economics.
  • Experience building, launching, managing, commercializing, or transforming lending products, digital credit journeys, credit platforms, or related banking capabilities.
  • Demonstrated business development, client relationship, account management, or strategic partnership experience, ideally with financial institutions, lenders, issuers, or capital providers.
  • Proven ability to convert client or market opportunities into commercial propositions, pilots, partnerships, or scalable programs.
  • Demonstrated ownership and ability to independently lead complex initiatives, make sound decisions, and drive execution with limited day-to-day guidance.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and program management experience, including managing concurrent workstreams, stakeholders, dependencies, risks, and delivery timelines across teams, regions, and business areas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including leading workshops, facilitating decisions, and presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify issues, recommend solutions, and advance complex initiatives from concept through execution.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in helping build a new global business as the platform scales.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Banking, Technology, Product Management, International Development, or a related discipline preferred. MBA, master's degree, or relevant postgraduate qualification is advantageous.

  • Mastercard experience and/or existing financial institution or issuer relationships.
  • Commercial leadership or people management experience.
  • Data analytics, risk analytics, or technical experience supporting lending or credit products.

What Success Looks Like

During the first 12 months, this individual will help Mastercard:

  • Successfully execute priority A2C pilots and convert qualified opportunities into live lending programs and commercial deployments.
  • Independently own major client, partner, and program workstreams.
  • Establish repeatable lender onboarding, governance, partner management, and pilot-to-commercialization processes.
  • Advance capital-provider relationships and convert them into executable financial institution opportunities.
  • Expand the qualified pipeline with Global GTM, regional teams, Account Management, Advisors, and CNPF.
  • Generate measurable Services revenue, lending growth, SME card issuance, and Mastercard network value.
  • Build the operating foundation for A2C to evolve into the Mastercard Lending Network across additional lenders, markets, technology partners, and capital providers.
