Job summary

STACK Infrastructure is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to lead core functions of preconstruction on data center projects. You will develop budgets, schedules, and cost analyses, while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders and supporting design management in early-stage developments.

The role emphasizes conceptual estimating, scheduling, and driving efficiencies through value engineering and risk management, with strong collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of preconstruction experience.
  • Preferred 5+ years in data centers or other mission critical facilities.
  • Significant experience leading multiple projects simultaneously through the preconstruction phase.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and industry standard estimating and scheduling software.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Strong analytical, creative thinking, and communications skills.
  • Ability to execute, process, and prioritize tasks independently and collaboratively as needed to meet project goals.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with internal staff, and external consultants, vendors, and other stakeholders.

  • Work with Finance to develop financial models.

The Position

STACK is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to manage the core functions of Preconstruction on our projects. The Preconstruction Manager will be responsible for project budget and schedule development and management, coordination with internal and external project stakeholders, design management and support, and technical construction input in early-stage developments. The ideal candidate has experience in conceptual estimating and scheduling and is passionate about working with a team to develop solutions and strategies.

Role responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work closely with project teams to evaluate and analyze data center development projects during the preconstruction phase.
  • Create and maintain conceptual project budgets and schedules from schematic or feasibility level documents.
  • Conduct cost analysis and value engineering studies to identify cost savings opportunities and improve project efficiency.
  • Maintain budgets and, as the design evolves, develop variance summaries between estimates and communicate the reasons to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze construction documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop project strategies, manage risks, and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide input and support to project teams.
  • Build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including general contractors and design partners.
  • Work collaboratively with the Finance Team on developing financial models.

Must-have Qualifications
