We are searching for the best talent for Plan System Optimization Manager

to support our global teams remotely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Planning System (OMP) solver stability and tuning – refinement of solver parameters to ensure the business is achieving optimal and feasible deployment and production results via OMP, based on business input and associated data.
  • Lead solver data testing initiatives to ensure stability, quality, and performance of the results for both Value Streams, and identify and escalate issues that would impact the solver’s ability to find solutions during the weekly batch cycles
  • Identify opportunities and strategies to address constraints in the OMP constrained and unconstrained solver to enhance stability
  • Continue developing organizational knowledge around OMP, sharing expertise and further refining training material and documentation content as needed in support of the PEX team and broader business education.
  • Lead sustainment and stability of the planning system solution, working closely with internal PEx partners, and engaging internal J&J Technology teams
  • Develop expertise in OMP framework (SP, DP, and integration) and solver algorithms, to support problem solving, sustainability, and developing enhancements in the OMP planning solution for constrained and unconstrained planning
  • Support process development and ways of working changes for the OMP CoE, including interactions between the J&J and OMP teams
  • Sustain and support high-level models including the functional/solution architecture for each value stream, aligning business constraints with practical models to ensure results quality and robust performance of the system solution
  • Provide support in translating evolving business requirements into optimization modeling and parameterization opportunities that synergize with autonomous planning initiatives
  • Develop partnerships with internal PEx stakeholders and external cross-functions to drive both confidence and engagement with the planning solution
  • Support solver troubleshooting and development initiatives and opportunities for cross-functional input and use of the planning solution
  • Support additional business process problem solving and resolution as required, in alignment with planning systems and technical capabilities
  • Develop expertise in supply chain modeling software to evaluate, analyze and solve supply chain trade-offs related to cost, sustainability, customer service, working capital, lead time and responsiveness.

Key Relationships

This position will work closely with various Supply Chain stakeholders including but not limited to:

  • All levels of the Plan function.
  • Make, Deliver, Source, Product Management or other SC functional team members
  • Enterprise groups (EPEx, SCDM, SCSS, JJT, among others).

Qualifications

Education:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or relevant experience is required

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of related Supply Chain related experience is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of Supply Chain Planning experience is required.
  • Strong background / experience in Supply Chain Planning processes and systems is required. Extensive experience with optimization modeling is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in 3 out of the 5 core areas of Planning is required- Demand Planning, Supply Network Planning, Production Planning, Inventory Planning and S&OP.
  • Relevant mix of global, regional, cross-sector / cross-industry experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Advanced Planning Systems deploys, specifically OMP technology is highly preferred.
  • APICS certification is highly preferred

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, excellent communication and presentation skills are required.
  • Strength in interdependent partnering and team management is required.
  • The ability to effectively manage projects, timelines, and change management is required.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly, making the complex clear and compelling to all levels of the organization in both written and oral forms is required.
  • Ability to embed a culture of harmonization and process improvement and value creation across the business is required.

Clear understanding of external supply chain trends and emerging best practices. Strong influencing role in shaping the journey for future of the Planning function is required.

Other Requirements

Location of Role: Remote role supporting global teams.

Language Requirements: English.

Travel Requirements: Up to 10%.
