Job summary

Elevance Health is seeking a Part-time Manager Pharmacy Specialty in Vancouver, WA to oversee daily specialty pharmacy operations and key accounts. In-person work is required at the posted location with occasional flexibility for virtual work as noted.

You will train staff, optimize workflow, and lead patient care across intake, provision and distribution of drugs. A PharmD or BA/BS in Pharmacy with at least 3 years of related experience and an active license are required.

Qualifications

  • Requires a BA/BS in Pharmacy or a PharmD and minimum of 3 years of related pharmacy experience; or any combination of education and experience providing an equivalent background.
  • Active, valid, current unrestricted pharmacy license (RPH) for applicable state.

Responsibilities

  • Trains and manages pharmacist and pharmacy technician staff in the provision of specialty pharmacy services.
  • Maximizes the efficiency and productivity of the pharmacy and delivery operations.
  • Provides leadership in ongoing management of patients throughout intake, care provision and distribution of drugs and supplies.
  • Leads in-service and participates in professional conferences as the opportunity arises.
  • Assists in the design, development and execution of clinical outcomes and accreditation programs.
  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.
  • Supports billing and revenue cycle through timely management of back-end billing and front-end verification and authorization.

Job description

Shift: Part time, 20 hours (Benefits eligible), Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 1:00pm PT

Location: Vancouver, WA, Some Fridays may be flexible for virtual work

Onsite: This role requires associates to work from the posted locations full-time, enabling consistent face-to-face collaboration, teamwork, and direct engagement. This policy promotes an environment built on in-person interaction, communication, and immediate support.

The Manager Pharmacy Specialty is responsible for oversight of the daily duties and responsibilities for the provision of specialty pharmacy services and management of key specialty pharmacy accounts for organization.

How you will make an impact:
  • Trains and manager performance of pharmacist and pharmacy technician staff in the provision of specialty pharmacy services as it relates to patient services, physician account management and clinical expertise.
  • Maximizes the efficiency and productivity of the pharmacy and delivery operations.
  • Provides leadership in the ongoing management of patients throughout intake, care provision and distribution of drugs and supplies.
  • Leads in-service and participates in professional conferences as the opportunity arises.
  • Assists in the design, development and execution of clinical outcomes and accreditation programs.
  • Identifies opportunities and weaknesses, collaboratively designs, and deploys effective solutions.
  • Answers and initiates phone calls related to providing pharmaceutical care; documents all activities comprehensively and appropriately.
  • Performs dispensing, delivery and inventory duties as needed; fulfills the duties of the patient care coordinator/pharmacy technician when required.
  • Support billing and revenue cycle through timely management of back-end billing and front-end verification and authorization.
  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.
  • Requires a BA/BS in Pharmacy or a PharmD and minimum of 3 years of related pharmacy experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Must possess an active, valid, current unrestricted pharmacy license (RPH) for applicable state or territory of the United States.
Preferred skills, capabilities, and experiences:
  • PharmD preferred.
  • Willingness to travel for training preferred.
  • Additional licenses in Texas, Oregon, and/or Alaska preferred
  • Willingness to obtain additional licensures within 90-days of employment preferred

For Paragon and Carelon Health business unit, satisfactory completion of a Tuberculosis test is a requirement for this position.

For candidates working in person or virtually in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $177,267.46 to $265,901.84 for full time (40 hours) or $88,633.73 to $132,950.92 for part time (20 hours)
