Job Description

GENERAL OVERVIEW

This role involves participating in the development, planning, implementation, and operation of departmental projects and services. The manager works with the pharmacy director to establish departmental goals and objectives, manages day-to-day operations, and ensures compliance with systems, regulatory requirements, and performance improvement initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities
  1. Operations Management: Plans, organizes, implements, and controls pharmacy activities to meet operational standards and objectives. Develops plans to streamline operations. (20%)
  2. Staff Development: Develops guidelines and educates staff on new products and procedures. (20%)
  3. Supervision: Supervises pharmacy staff, clarifies expectations, and promotes cooperation. (20%)
  4. Pharmacy Practice: Performs duties of a Pharmacist or Pharmacy Practice Supervisor as needed. (10%)
  5. Policy and Personnel: Assists with policy development, staffing, and performance appraisals. (10%)
  6. Performance and Compliance: Participates in performance improvement and regulatory compliance efforts, fostering a safety-oriented environment. (10%)
  7. Budgeting: Assists with budget preparation, cost control, and 340B management. (10%)
  8. Other Duties: Performs assigned duties as required.
Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy degree and 5 years of experience as a staff pharmacist.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in PA within 120 days of hire.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Business, or Healthcare Management.
  • Pharmacy residency.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
