Wonder is seeking a senior-level individual contributor to join our People Tech team as Manager, HR Technology. This role centers on being a Workday expert, solving complex problems, and driving scalable, AI-enabled experiences within a fast-growing environment.

You will own the People Technology Platform, design integrations, and shape the AI-first HR ecosystem with a focus on performance and data integrity in a hybrid work model in New York.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8+ years of experience in HR Technology, People Systems, or related platform roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Workday across multiple modules.
• Experience beyond configuration including integrations, APIs, automation, or system design.
• Familiarity with tools and capabilities such as Workday Extend, Prism, or similar platform technologies.

Responsibilities

• Own the People Technology Platform: architecture, configuration, and performance of Workday as the core of the People Technology ecosystem.
• Build AI-Enabled Experiences & Automation: design intelligent automation to reduce manual work and scale across People Operations; leverage AI to enhance employee experiences.
• Platform Engineering & System Design: build reusable, scalable solutions; optimize business processes for performance, scalability, compliance, and simplicity; ensure data integrity and reliability.
• Integrations, APIs & Connectivity: design, build, and optimize integrations between Workday and external systems using APIs and middleware; ensure data flow across payroll, benefits, and workforce tools.
• Drive Transformation & Scale: contribute to major initiatives including M&A integrations, system implementations, and organizational scaling; evolve to an AI-enabled HR tech platform.

The People Tech team is looking for a senior-level individual contributor to join us as Manager, HR Technology. This position is designed for a Workday expert who thrives in high-magnitude, rapidly evolving setting where your work goes far beyond basic system upkeep.

You should possess a strong attention to detail balanced with a strategic perspective, excel when empowered to move quickly and solve problems independently, and be dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences for both employees and managers.

The Impact You Will Make

Own the People Technology Platform

• Own and evolve the architecture, configuration, and performance of Workday as the core of the People Technology ecosystem
• Design scalable, extensible solutions that go beyond configuration and improve how employees and managers interact with systems
• Translate business needs into well-architected solutions using configuration, APIs, integrations, and automation frameworks

Build AI-Enabled Experiences & Automation

• Design and implement intelligent automation that reduces manual work and enables scale across People Operations
• Leverage AI to enhance employee experiences including self-service, case deflection, knowledge retrieval, and workflow orchestration
• Partner in shaping an AI‑first People Experience using tools such as Workday AI along with emerging AI technologies
• Identify and implement opportunities to embed AI into workflows across onboarding, support, and employee lifecycle moments

Platform Engineering & System Design

• Operate with a platform mindset by building reusable, scalable solutions across systems and processes
• Design and optimize business processes with a focus on performance, scalability, compliance, and simplicity
• Ensure strong data integrity, governance, and system reliability across the HR technology stack

Integrations, APIs & Connectivity

• Design, build, and optimize integrations between Workday and external systems using APIs, middleware, and event‑driven patterns
• Enable seamless data flow and interoperability across systems such as payroll, benefits, and workforce tools
• Contribute to a connected and flexible HR technology ecosystem that can evolve with the business

Drive Transformation & Scale

• Play a key role in major initiatives including M&A integrations, system implementations, and organizational scaling
• Help evolve the HR tech ecosystem into a modern, AI‑enabled platform
• Contribute to building a best‑in‑class People Technology function

What You Bring To The Table

• 5 to 8+ years of experience in HR Technology, People Systems, or related platform roles
• Strong hands‑on experience with Workday across multiple modules
• Experience beyond configuration including integrations, APIs, automation, or system design
• Familiarity with tools and capabilities such as Workday Extend, Prism, or similar platform technologies
• Understanding of integration patterns, data flows, and system architecture concepts
• Strong experience with business process design, data models, and reporting and analyticsProven ability to independently own and deliver complex solutions end‑to‑end
• Experience in high‑growth, fast‑paced, or transformation environments

Our hybrid model requires 3 days a week in the office. That said, many team members choose to come in more often to take advantage of in‑person collaboration and connection. You're welcome—and encouraged—to be in the office up to 5 days a week if it works for you.

New York: $138,000 - $145,500 per year.

Illinois: $124,000 - $131,000 per year.

Wonder uses geographic‑specific salary structures, which means the salary offered may vary depending on where the job is located. The final salary offer will take into account various factors, such as the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience.
