Job summary

Fanatics Betting & Gaming seeks a seasoned Manager, Payroll Tax to lead multi-state payroll tax operations in a fast-paced environment. You will oversee filings, deposits, reconciliations, amendments, and year-end processing, while coordinating with HRIS, Finance and external vendors to ensure accurate tax administration.

Responsibilities include leading the payroll tax team, handling notices and penalties, staying current with regulations, and driving system improvements within Oracle Fusion

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, HR, or related field.
• CPP certification required.
• 7+ years of multi-state payroll tax experience in high-volume environment.
• Leading or managing payroll tax professionals is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud Payroll required.
• Experience with ADP SmartCompliance, payroll tax amendments, and agency notice resolution.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
• Advanced Excel skills with pivot tables and large data set analysis.

• Manage payroll tax activities related to mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
• Lead audits and remediation efforts.
• Analyze complex tax discrepancies and implement sustainable solutions.
• Manage payroll tax vendors and agency relationships; oversee service performance.

The Role

TheManager,Payroll Tax oversees multi-state, multi-FEIN payroll tax operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This role leadspayrolltax compliance, filings, deposits, reconciliations, amendments, year-end processing, audits, and related controls. The Manager will lead the payroll tax team and partner closely with Payroll, HRIS, Finance, and external vendors to ensureaccurateandtimelytax administration.

WhatYou’llDo

• Lead payroll tax operations across multiple states, localities, and FEINs, ensuringaccurateandtimelyfilings, deposits, and reconciliations.
• Manage, coach, and develop payroll tax team members.
• Oversee tax amendments, agency notices, penalties, and escalations, partnering with ADPSmartComplianceas needed.
• Lead year-end processing, including W-2 and W-2c preparation, validation, distribution, and corrections.
• Monitor federal, state, and local tax regulations and implement required process and system changes.
• Maintain strong payroll tax controls, procedures, and documentation to support compliance and audit readiness.
• Partner with Payroll and HRIS teams to ensureaccuratetax setups, employee profiles, and configurations within Oracle Fusion Cloud Payroll.
• Manage payroll tax activities related to mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, including due diligence, FEIN setup, and tax transitions.
• Lead internal and external payroll tax audits and oversee remediation efforts.
• Analyze complex tax discrepancies,identifyroot causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Manage payroll tax vendors and agency relationships, including service performance and issue resolution.
• Lead system testing, process improvements, automation, and other payroll tax projects.

WhatWe’reLooking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certificationrequired.
• 7+ years of multi-state, multi-FEIN payroll tax experience in a high-volume environment.
• Previousexperience leading or managing payroll tax professionals.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud Payrollrequired.
• Experience with ADPSmartCompliance, payroll tax amendments, and agency notice resolutionrequired.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and year-end requirements.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, andlarge-data-set analysis.
• Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and project management skills.
• Canadian payroll tax experience is a plus.

$120,000—$150,000 USD
