In this role, you’ll lead the daily operations of the surgery department while ensuring staff provide safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. You’ll oversee staffing, scheduling, patient care standards, documentation, equipment and supplies, while serving as a clinical resource and leader for the department. You’ll also support hiring, staff development, performance management, quality improvement, service recovery, and the implementation of departmental policies and procedures. Working closely with nursing leadership and other departments, you’ll help coordinate resources, resolve concerns, improve outcomes, and maintain a strong culture of teamwork and patient-centered care.
You bring strong nursing leadership experience, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to effectively manage a fast-paced patient care environment. You have excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills that allow you to lead diverse teams, coordinate staffing, and keep departmental priorities on track. You’re confident in coaching and developing staff, resolving conflicts, managing resources, and making decisions that support both patient outcomes and operational efficiency. You also bring a strong customer-service mindset, a collaborative leadership style, and the ability to build trust with patients, staff, physicians, and hospital leadership. A bachelor’s degree, relevant nursing experience, and leadership experience are essential for success in this position.
