Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Brookhaven, GA seeks a Laboratory Manager to oversee departmental operations and ensure high-quality patient care. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or closely related field required.
• MBA or Health Administration preferred.
• 5 years clinical experience with at least 2 years supervisory in acute care setting required.
• Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area applying for.
• Certification in medical technology; MT/MLT or ASCP/AMT/AAB required; AAB provisional not accepted.
• Histology/Cytology certs (HTL/HT/CT) ASCP required.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university in Medical Technology or a closely related field is Required
• Master's degree of Business Administration or Health Administration is Preferred

Work Experience

• 5 years of clinical experience, including at least two (2) years with supervisory responsibilities, preferably in an acute care hospital setting is Required
• Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area applying for Required

Licenses and Certifications

• Management of Clinical Laboratory only: Certification in medical technology; certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts) . AAB provisional certification not accepted Required
• Management of Anatomic Pathology (Cytology/Histology): Certification in histology; certification as a Histotechnologist HTL, Histotechnician HT and/or Cytologist CT by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Required
