GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This job provides overall administrative leadership, management, and oversight of all aspects of the total joint replacement and hip fracture programs. Leads a team of managers, medical staff, clinical and non-clinical professionals in the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of evidence-based practices to improve the orthopedic program.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Oversee various projects and operating initiatives, including facilitating multiple stakeholders, setting and driving goals and timelines, developing implementation plans, and ensuring project execution. Lead the development and maintenance of ongoing process and quality improvement programs. Develop and implement policies and procedures supporting department services. Lead data analysis, regulatory reporting, and develop processes for meeting regulatory targets, monitoring compliance, and initiating corrective actions as needed.
  2. Perform and direct systems analysis to create improved operational efficiencies. Collaborate with physician leaders to develop strategic and business plans. Support program development, outreach activities, and performance improvement initiatives. Establish monitoring systems related to clinical improvement initiatives, including the analysis of clinical data and benchmarks to identify opportunities for quality improvement. Collect, analyze, and report orthopedic data, making recommendations to improve patient outcomes and program development. Maintain current knowledge of Joint Commission certification standards and other regulatory requirements. (20%)
  3. Monitor and report on program status, including scope, schedule, budget, and alignment with strategic goals. Implement corrective actions to maintain program viability.
  4. Manage complex projects with business and technical teams and executive sponsors to determine strategy and approach. Lead the orthopedic program to ensure success systematically.
  5. Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers. Present project status updates effectively throughout project lifecycles. Mentor less experienced project team members.
  6. Handle HR responsibilities such as hiring, evaluating, coaching, promoting, disciplining, and discharging staff, following established policies.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Master's degree in Healthcare or Public Health OR 8 years of related work experience
  • 5 years managing multiple projects or programs
  • 3 years in critical thinking, data analysis, or clinical research
  • Experience in data analysis and presentation
  • Protocol development experience
  • Business plan development and implementation skills

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
