Job summary

Sephora is seeking a Distribution Center Leader in Avon, Indiana to drive operational excellence and supervise both exempt and non-exempt staff across shifts. You will oversee safety, sanitation, and performance metrics while guiding short- and long-term plans for the DC.

Qualifications

  • Five to ten years of distribution center experience.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or quick proficiency in Blue Yonder, Autostore or Pouch Packing.
  • Understanding inbound, outbound/shipping and inventory control.
  • Ability to delegate and develop exempt leaders and lead large teams up to 300 associates.
  • Knowledge of distribution operating systems and all aspects of warehouse, production and logistics.
  • Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical abilities and MS Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead DC operations with a focus on safety and housekeeping and supervise staff across shifts.
  • Develop and execute short- and long-term plans aligned with company objectives.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration with Maintenance, Asset Protection, HR, Finance, and other groups.

Your responsibilities include...

Leading the team with operational excellence. In this role you will be responsible for the supervision of other exempt and non-exempt staff within an assigned shift or department including the oversight of safety and housekeeping/sanitation activities and programs. You will achieve success by demonstrating business leadership throughout the organization by using independent discretion to create, and achieve short and long term strategic and tactical plans for the DC guided by broad principles, objectives, and standards.

  • Drives Results.Own and develops plans for promoting team collaboration and accountability for meeting performance objectives, while building, motivating and leading cross-functional teams across the organization to achieve the objectives of the company. Ensures that direct reports have the support they need to effectively manage their departments through proper coaching and development. Manage the efficient allocation of equipment and labor resources to respective departments to ensure service levels and budgets are consistently met.
  • Collaborates.Leverages Maintenance, Asset Protection, Human Resources, Finance, and other key support groups to integrate and align efforts across DC’s and its functions in retail and e-commerce environments. Develops preventative measures that analyze quantitative, qualitative and trend data and makes decisions based on this data that will positivity impact productivity. Contributes to policy and program development through consistent administration and execution of policies/guidelines that effect daily work activities.
  • Engages & Inspires.Helps others grow by administering policies/guidelines fairly that directly affect work activities which include counseling associates consistently on performance and behavioral concerns. Successfully role models teamwork and demonstrates a collaborative approach when working with staff, associates and management. Passionately leads others in company safety, performance, state and OSHA rules, policies and regulations to ensure safe working practices. Ensures a strong commitment and active participation in employee engagement strategy and people-oriented culture.

We would love to hear from you if you have...

  • Five to ten years of relevant / related work experience in a distribution center environment.
  • Previous experience in working with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and/or ability to quickly develop a proficiency in such systems as Blue Yonder, Autostore or Pouch Packing.
  • Ability to quickly develop a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the production floor to include Inbound, Outbound/Shipping, Dotcom and Inventory Control.
  • Ability to delegate and develop exempt leaders and lead large teams up to 300 associates
  • Knowledge of distribution operating systems and all aspects of warehouse, production and logistics and transportation-related activities.
  • Must be flexible and adaptive to respond to fast paced high-volume environment. Must be able to manage multiple tasks against competing priorities.
  • Possess proven analytical abilities and interpersonal skills. Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Excel.

What You’ll Get:

The annual base salary range for this position is $99,025.00- $110,675.00. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.This job will be posted for a minimum of 5 days.
