Job summary

DP World in Rialto, CA, is seeking a dynamic Operations Manager to lead a new site launch. You will drive day-to-day logistics activities, coordinate with customers, and implement contingency plans to keep schedules on track.

The role requires strong people leadership, a background in warehouse or logistics operations, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment. A 2nd shift (2 PM–10:30 PM) is offered, with a focus on delivering results and improving processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Progressive experience in operational and plant management in automotive or logistics.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents; present to top management.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
• Proficient PC skills including email, record keeping, databases, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily activities of a logistics operation to maximize scheduling and delivery of commodities to the customer.
• Interface with customer to ensure smooth scheduling coordination and maximize schedule adherence; provide input on local conditions and staffing adjustments.
• Enact contingency plans; escalate and direct activities during system problems or disasters; participate in post-mortem analyses for process improvements.
• Review performance results against targets and take corrective actions with authorization.
• Provide strong leadership to Warehouse Managers and teams, enforcing company standards and modeling expected behavior.
• Other duties as assigned.

About the Role

How you will contribute

• Manage the daily activities of a logistics operation to maximize scheduling and delivery of commodities to the customer.
• Interface with customer to ensure smooth -coordination of scheduling and maximization of schedule adherence; provides input on local conditions, identifies needs and receives direction on real-time staffing increases or decreases.
• Enact contingency plans as needed; escalates and directs activities during system problems, disasters, etc.; identify potential problems, troubleshoot, escalates issues to local and senior management, and participate in post-mortem analysis of problems providing input for future process improvements.
• Review ongoing performance results to targets. Take corrective measures with authorization, escalates as needed
• Responsible for providing effective leadership to the Warehouse Managers and/or team, enforcing company standards, act as a role model.
• Other duties as assigned.

Your Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Progressive experience performing professional level operational and plant management duties; preferably in automotive or logistics industry.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write documentsusing original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management and customer.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.

We offer a market competitive compensation package. Starting salary range based on job level and experience is $90,800-$108,200.
