Job summary

DP World is seeking an experienced Operations Manager based in Los Lunas, NM to plan, direct and coordinate the logistics operations at the facility. • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in operations management with responsibility for day-to-day operations, teams, and performance metrics.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and present to top management and customers.
• Proficient PC skills including email, record keeping, databases, word processing and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily activities of a logistics operation to maximize scheduling and delivery.
• Interface with customer to ensure smooth scheduling and maximize schedule adherence; provide input on staffing needs.
• Enact contingency plans during system problems or disasters; troubleshoot and escalate issues; contribute to post-mortem analysis.
• Review performance against targets and take corrective actions as needed with authorization.
• Provide effective leadership to Warehouse Managers or teams and uphold company standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

About The Role

How you will contribute

• Manage the daily activities of a logistics operation to maximize scheduling and delivery of commodities to the customer.
• Interface with customer to ensure smooth -coordination of scheduling and maximization of schedule adherence; provides input on local conditions, identifies needs and receives direction on real-time staffing increases or decreases.
• Enact contingency plans as needed; escape and direct activities during system problems, disasters, etc.; identify potential problems, troubleshoot, elevate issues to local and senior management, and participate in post-mortem analysis of problems providing input for future process improvements.
• Review ongoing performance results to targets. Take corrective measures with authorization, escape as needed
• Responsible for providing effective leadership to the Warehouse Managers and/or team, enforcing company standards, act as a role model.
• Other duties as assigned.

Your Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in operations management, with demonstrated responsibility for managing day-to-day operations, teams, and performance metrics. Experience in the automotive or logistics industry is required.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write documents using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management and customer.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
