Job summary

ESM MYLAN PARK LLC in Morgantown, West Virginia, seeks a part-time Manager on Duty (MOD) to supervise a six-person staff at The Aquatic Center in Mylan Park. The role requires responding to emergencies, maintaining safety and operations, and delivering excellent customer service.

Shifts run 4:45am–1:00pm or 3:45pm–9:00pm; on-site at the aquatic center. CPR/First Aid/AED certification is required. Base pay is $15.00/hour, with duties including staff training and event setup.

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid/AED certification required or certified as Professional Rescuer
• Strong knowledge of Club Automation (Rec Auto)
• Thorough knowledge of Recreation Services' practices and policies preferred

Responsibilities

• Respond to medical and non-medical emergencies
• Oversee and delegate responsibilities to six staff
• Provide outstanding customer service
• Ensure risk management measures are taken
• Assist in interviewing and training student staff
• Document participation counts for activity areas
• Complete reports on staff, incidences, maintenance and accidents
• Set up for rentals and special events as needed
• Ensure cash handling practices are accurate
• Complete Incident and Accident reports as necessary
• Other duties as assigned

This position will work on-site at The Aquatic Center in Mylan Park, West Virginia. The Aquatic Center includes a community pool, an Olympic-sized competition pool, outdoor splash pad, dynamic fitness room, outdoor track and so much more. It has become a local hub of sports tourism by hosting elite-level regional and national Aquatics and Track events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Respond to all medical and non-medical emergencies
• Oversee and delegate responsibilities to six person staff
• Responsible for offering outstanding customer service
• Ensure that all risk management measures have been taken
• Assist in the evaluation and promotion of student staff
• Troubleshoot POS, timekeeping & payroll system issues/questions for student staff
• Assist in the interviewing and training of new student staff
• Continually monitor all facility activity and program areas
• Document participation count for each activity area
• Completing reports in staff, incidences, maintenance, and accidents
• Set up for rentals and special events as needed
• Ensure the cash handling practices are accurate
• Completion of all Incident and Accident reports as necessary
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Has a thorough knowledge of Recreation Services' practices and policies preferred
• Successfully demonstrated expert knowledge of Club Automation (Rec Auto)
• Must be certified as a CPR/ First Aid/AED Professional Rescuer
• Shifts available are 4:45am to 1:00pm or 3:45pm to 9:00pm (times are subject to change during times of events and/or planned closures.)

Physical Demands

• Assisting in event setups requiring lifting exceeding 30lbs
• Bending, stooping, lifting
• Eye-hand coordination (officiating mechanics)
• Hearing and talking
• Standing, walking or running for at least 90% of the shift

Work Environment

• Several hours on feet/walking around
• Moderate to loud noise
