The City Of Wheat Ridge is seeking a part-time Recreation staff member to assist in managing operations at the Rec Center in Wheat Ridge, CO. You will help supervise staff and customers across the pool, gyms, rooms, and courts while promoting a safe, welcoming environment.
Responsibilities include customer service, incident reporting, cash handling, scheduling via RecTrac, registrations, room setup, and coordination with vendors. Must be able to lift light objects and work varied hours.

This facility is over 72,000 square feet and has an average of 1000 guests visit daily.
Wheat Ridge is located on the ancestral homelands of Native peoples who lived on and stewarded this land long before its incorporation. During the 1859 Gold Rush, the City was a rest stop for miners and later named for its golden wheat fields. As unsuccessful miners turned to farming, the area thrived with orchards, vegetable fields, and later, greenhouses, earning the title \"Carnation City\". Incorporated in 1969, Wheat Ridge now offers a central location with easy access to Denver and the Rocky Mountains. It operates as a home-rule city with a council-manager government, where the elected council sets policy, and the manager oversees daily operations and budgeting.
HOURS OF WORK, LOCATION, AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: This is a part-time position and hours will vary depending on facility needs. Work is primarily performed indoors involving lifting, bending, sitting, standing, stooping, reaching, climbing, walking, and hearing. Requires the ability to move tables, chairs, volleyball standards and occasional lifting and carrying of objects weighing less than 24 pounds. Must be able to work in an environment where noise and interruptions prevail. The ability to verbally communicate in a clear and concise manner is essential to this position. Interaction with the public and co-workers is an everyday occurrence requiring multi-tasking and ability to direct, negotiate, and mediate.
