Position Purpose
The Pro customer represents a $700 billion market opportunity for The Home Depot, and the company has built an unmatched set of capabilities through organic investments and strategic acquisitions. The Office of Pro Acceleration brings together our enterprise teams to accelerate market share capture. In this position, the Manager, Commercial Strategy serves as a key strategic partner and analytical lead supporting The Home Depot’s growth strategies across the Pro ecosystem. Working closely with the Director, Commercial Strategy, cross-functional partners, and Business Unit leads, the Manager will lead market analysis, perform customer segmentation, model commercial growth opportunities, and help translate go-to-market strategies into seamless operational execution on behalf of the Pro customer.
Key Responsibilities
- Deep Customer Discovery & Needs Analysis: Uncovers qualitative and quantitative insights into Pro customer needs, pain points, purchasing drivers, and friction across customer segments to inform strategy
- Customer Segmentation & Value Proposition Definition: Analyzes customer cohorts, behavioral data, and market trends to define targeted value propositions that resonate with specific Pro customer segments
- Commercial Strategy Execution: Translates customer insights into actionable commercial growth plans, go-to-market initiatives, and cross-selling playbooks across the Pro ecosystem, partnering with Sales Enablement and Commercial Leadership
- Opportunity Modeling & Business Cases: Conducts financial and quantitative analysis to evaluate customer-centric growth initiatives, build business cases, and identify value creation opportunities
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Partners closely with sales, operations, and merchandising teams to align customer needs with operational execution and commercial delivery

- Typically reports to a Director level
- This position has no direct reports.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

- Must be eighteen years of age or older.

- Commercial & B2B Acumen: Strong understanding of B2B sales models, customer segmentation, wholesale distribution, and retail dynamics to evaluate commercial growth opportunities. Exceptional customer focus and advocacy.
- Strategic & Financial Rigor: Highly analytical mindset with expertise in building data-driven business cases, financial modeling, and translating qualitative strategic concepts into structured quantitative analysis.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to partner across business units, sales organizations, and operational teams to drive consensus, navigate matrixed environments, and align on execution priorities.
- Executive Communication & Storytelling: Ability to synthesize complex analytical findings into crisp executive summaries, structured presentations, and actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
