Job summary

Wurth Industry USA is seeking a warehouse leader to oversee all warehouse activities and ensure efficient, cost-effective order fulfillment. You will develop teams, drive day-to-day operations, and partner with Würth executives to implement policies and improvements.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 5 years of warehouse/operations management experience, with SAP knowledge desirable. Travel up to 10–20% is expected.

  • Develop and execute departmental policies, goals and procedures with Würth executives.
  • Set performance goals for operations staff and monitor achievement.
  • Select, hire and train employees with HR/Management; conduct appraisals.
  • Ensure processes from other areas are implemented in warehouse operations.
  • Coordinate activities to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Follow policies and create a safety-conscious culture.
  • Collaborate on process improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Coordinate with managers to ensure cross-functional alignment.
  • Provide budgeting input for warehouse operations (sales, margins, costs, inventory).
  • Model Würth corporate culture; continuously improve productivity.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction; represent the company in customer relations.
  • Encourage input from all levels and departments.

Job description

This position is responsible for all warehouse activities, and ensures that Wurth delivers consistent, effective and economical fulfillment of orders. You will lead and help develop team members within your department, and be part of directing the day to day operations to ensure a smooth-running warehouse environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manages and Directs work of functional team, including hiring, corrective action, performance appraisals and pay review, budget and processes.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a large team, manage performance, and foster a collaborative and productive work environment in accordance to Wurth basic principles.
  • Implement training programs to ensure staff are equipped with necessary skills and knowledge, including new employee onboarding.
  • Manage workforce planning, staffing, and labor relations to meet operational requirements.
  • Take overall responsibility for the warehouse and inventory management operations and implements action items to ensure that those goals are achieved.
  • Manage and mentor the Logistics Team.
  • Review financial statements, sales, production reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement, as well as to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
  • Develop, direct execution and continuously improve departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with Würth executives as necessary.
  • Develop performance goals and objectives for operations employees and monitor achievement of those goals.
  • Selects, hires and trains employees, in tandem with HR and Management. Conducts performance appraisals and provides input to supervisors as needed.
  • Ensure process and procedures developed by other functional areas are implemented within all warehouse operations departments.
  • Manage and coordinate Warehouse activities to maximize productivity and increase efficiency.
  • Follows operating policies/procedures and ensures employee compliance. Ensures Warehouse Leaders are creating a safety conscious culture.
  • Collaborate with managers and supervisors on process improvement, unique solutions, and opportunities to drive growth and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other managers to ensure effective coordination of activities.
  • Provides input to the Operations Manager regarding budgeting for all warehouse operations departments, and ensures goals are met (sales, margins, costs/expenses, inventory).
  • Continually model and teach the corporate culture of Wurth Group.
  • Continuously improve productivity and efficiency of processes throughout all warehouse operations.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction. Represents the company at all times in a customer relations capacity.
  • Continually model inclusion of input from all levels of employees and other departments

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, and a minimum of 5 years of warehouse/operations management experience or commensurate combination of education and experience.
  • Understands and communicates distribution center best practices, policies, procedures.
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management systems and Warehouse automation.
  • Familiar with Lean distribution methodologies.
  • Results oriented, focused on continuous improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and persuasive skills.
  • Participative management style, solid leadership skills and able to build successful teams
  • Must maintain valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and forklift certification.
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as training instructions, shipping tickets, procedure manuals, etc.
  • Able to work with mathematical concepts such as graphs, statistics, percentages, and ratios.
  • Ability to establish credibility, respect and trust from staff and external business partners.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills. Working knowledge of other Microsoft Suite of products.
  • Understanding of SAP is desirable.
  • Strategic thinker; uses creative and innovative problem solving in many types of diverse situations.
  • Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning ability.
  • Ability to travel up to 10-20%, including limited international travel.
  • Knowledge and experience in ISO certification.

Pay:Starting at $60,000

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position.These include labor markets and, in some instances,may include education, skills, work experience and certifications. You may also be eligible to participate in an annual incentive bonus. An incentive bonus, if any, depends on various factors such as organizational performance.
