We are hiring a Training & Damage Prevention Manager to o versee the company’s damage prevention programs and initiatives, a ssess company-wide developmental needs, identify and arrange suitable training solutions, and implement programs that facilitate the development of team members. This position actively searches, creatively designs, and implements effective methods to educate and enhance employee performance and is responsible for improving the skill set of the organization’s employees.
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development, implementation, and adherence to company damage prevention policies.
- Serve as a resource to assist with damage prevention initiatives across the footprint.
- Collaborate with operations team to reduce utility damages through training, education, and policies.
- Collaborate with Safety, Compliance and the customer to certify workforce and adhere to all federal, state, customer, and internal damage prevention policies.
- Establish and implement metrics for monitoring system effectiveness.
- Participate in root-cause investigations and the development of corrective measures to reduce utility damages.
- Report to management team on metrics and trends regarding utility damages.
- Maintain the company’s accreditation in the Damage Prevention Institute (DPI) through monthly metrics reporting.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the organization’s training programs and recommend areas of improvement.
- Review training needs, modify, or improve existing programs or develop new training programs to meet those needs.
- Through collaboration with management, identify anticipated training needs based on human resource initiatives, legal and regulatory changes, career development needs, and other factors.
- Develop training & development programs and objectives.
- Obtain and/or develop effective training materials utilizing a variety of media.
- Oversee and assign mandatory training across the organization.
- Create and/or administer post-training evaluations, tests, and assessments.
- Conduct follow-up evaluations of all completed training to measure results.
- Train and coach individuals involved in employee development efforts.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management/engineering , Human Resources, Training and Development or related field . Related experience considered in lieu of education.
- 5+ years in training experience in organizational development/organization behavior.
- Knowledge and understanding of state one-call laws .
- Root cause investigation training .
- Ability to use programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to create messaging, track metrics, and develop training .
- Ability to communicate and deliver messages on various topics to internal personnel and customers .
- Excellent presentation and facilitator skills.
- Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
- Ability to design and implement effective training and development.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Travel overnight to various regions of the Company.
- Work within an office environment and outdoor job site.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Training and Development certifications .
- Experience in utility locating and damage prevention practices.
