Young Life seeks a strategic Communications Lead to shape enterprise communications and manage change across initiatives. The role focuses on translating complex topics into clear messaging, writing executive messages, driving internal campaigns, and coordinating across technology, operations, and field leadership.

You will develop audience-focused plans, oversee governance of channels, and align communications with training and staff resources, ensuring timely, effective information flow.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading communications for enterprise product implementations, technology rollouts, or organizational change initiatives.
  • Proven ability to develop communication strategies, translate complex information into clear, actionable messaging, and measure communication effectiveness.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with experience partnering across technology, operations, training, and field leadership.

Job description

Essential Functions:
Strategic Communications Planning
  • Develop communication strategies for enterprise products and organizational initiatives based on change management and communication best practices.
  • Create audience-focused communication plans that build awareness, support adoption, and reinforce new ways of working.
  • Align communications with project milestones, training, and support activities.
  • Advise project teams on communication and change management best practices.
  • Measure communication effectiveness and refine communication plans based on feedback and results.
Content Development & Delivery
  • Translate complex topics into clear, concise communications.
  • Ensure communications clearly explain what is changing, why it matters, and what action is required.
  • Write executive messages, staff announcements, email campaigns, intranet content, FAQs, and leadership talking points.
  • Execute communications across established internal channels.
  • Reduce the communication burden on subject matter experts by leading communication planning and execution.
Communication Governance & Channel Management
  • Maintain and coordinate the project communication calendar.
  • Advise on channel selection, timing, and format to improve engagement and reduce communication overload.
  • Establish communication standards, templates, and best practices.
  • Partner with content owners to keep the staff intranet current, organized, and easy to navigate.
Experience/Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant professional experience, Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading communications for enterprise product implementations, technology rollouts, or organizational change initiatives.
  • Proven ability to develop communication strategies, translate complex information into clear, actionable messaging, and measure communication effectiveness.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with experience partnering across technology, operations, training, and field leadership.
  • Experience with change management principles, preferably Prosci ADKAR.
  • Experience with SharePoint, EMMA, Canva, Excel and Google Workspace preferred.

  • Demonstrated success managing multiple priorities and influencing stakeholders across functions.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Job Specific Working Conditions:
Mission & Authority

This role partners with Young Life product owners, department leads, and field leaders to develop communication strategies that drive awareness, adoption, and sustained use of organizational initiatives.

This role translates complex business and technology changes into clear, actionable communications that help staff understand what is changing, why it matters, and what they need to do.

Using a change management framework, this role develops communication plans that build awareness, encourage adoption, and reinforce new ways of working.

This role also coordinates messaging across teams, aligns communications with training and support resources, and helps reduce communication overload by ensuring staff receive the right information at the right time.

This role also partners with content stewards to help ensure that content on the staff intranet remains an accurate, organized, and trusted source of information.

Pay Transparency

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is outlined below. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the United States. The anticipated salary rate for this position can range from $59, 250 -$74,150 depending on relevant education, experience, and location.
