About the Role

Amaze Cultivation is hiring a Manager of Security to lead all security operations at our Lebanon, Kentucky production facility. The Manager of Security is responsible for protecting the facility, its product, staff, and visitors by enforcing all entry, interior, and exterior security and compliance protocols in full alignment with Kentucky medical cannabis regulations. This role oversees a security team and ensures continuous, 24‑hour security coverage on site. It is a hands‑on leadership position ideal for someone who is highly organized, vigilant, dependable, and able to manage both people and security systems in a fast‑paced, highly regulated production environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce and maintain all security and compliance protocols for facility entry, interior, and exterior areas at all times.
  • Manage, schedule, and supervise security staff to ensure continuous, 24‑hour security coverage on site.
  • Review, verify, and approve all incoming and outgoing deliveries in accordance with facility and compliance procedures.
  • Adhere to all Kentucky state cannabis compliance regulations and security requirements for production facilities, including seed‑to‑sale and record‑keeping protocols.
  • Conduct regular patrols and inspections of the facility perimeter, grounds, and interior to identify and address vulnerabilities.
  • Train, coach, and develop security staff on protocols, compliance standards, and emergency response procedures.
  • Coordinate with facility leadership, cultivation, and production teams to support safe and compliant operations.
  • Follow strict biosecurity protocols at all times to prevent contamination, pests, or pathogens.
  • Support team operations and complete other duties as assigned by facility leadership.
  • Access control for limited access areas: Enforce that only authorized, badged personnel enter cultivation/processing and storage areas; maintain the daily entry/exit records required by regulations; ensure ‘Limited Access Area’ signage remains posted and legible.
  • Visitor management: Require visitors to sign the log in and out, verify government‑issued ID against the log, issue and collect numbered visitor badges, and escort visitors at all times, ensuring they never touch cannabis in a limited access area.
  • Surveillance monitoring: Monitor the professionally‑monitored, commercial‑grade camera system that runs 24/7/365 and captures facial detail; recordings must be retained and easily accessible for a minimum of 60 days.
  • Alarm response: Understand and be able to operate the panic alarm (audible, life‑threatening/emergency) and silent holdup alarm (robbery in progress), and respond appropriately to each.
  • Failure/malfunction handling: Act as (or support) the ‘designated security person’ who must receive system‑failure alerts within five minutes; a malfunction expected to exceed eight hours must be reported to OMC immediately.
  • Incident reporting: Recognize and immediately report adverse loss, theft, diversion, unauthorized entry, and other reportable events to management and, per protocol, to the cabinet at kymedcanreporting@ky.gov.
  • System upkeep support: Assist with the required monthly maintenance inspections and annual vendor testing of alarm/surveillance equipment, including related recordkeeping (retained for five years).
  • Records production: Be able to pull and export surveillance footage/screen captures upon request for the cabinet or law enforcement (regulations require up to four screen captures within three business days).
  • Equipment room protection: Protect the surveillance/alarm equipment room, access to which is restricted to essential security personnel and service technicians.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years of age (Kentucky cannabis industry requirement).
  • Must successfully pass both a federal (FBI) and state (Kentucky BCI) background check; no disqualifying felony convictions.
  • Must obtain a valid Cannabis Business Employee Agent ID issued by the Kentucky Office of Medical Cannabis prior to beginning on‑site work.
  • Prior security, law enforcement, loss prevention, or facility security management experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience supervising or managing a security team strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with proven ability to maintain accurate records and logs.
  • Comfortable using surveillance systems, access control software, and digital logs.
  • Must be available to support a 24‑hour security operation, including flexible hours, nights, and weekends as needed.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, patrol, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Must be willing and able to follow strict biosecurity protocols and wear proper PPE as required.
  • Reliable, punctual attendance and sound judgment in high‑responsibility situations.
