As part of the Associate Laboratory Directorate for Plutonium Infrastructure (ALDPI), we are seeking a dynamic and highly organized leader to manage multiple work fronts while overseeing Construction Managers and Construction Superintendents in support of the ALDPI/ALDWP mission.

In this role, you will ensure work is executed safely, in full compliance with LANL policies, and provide oversight to confirm Integrated Work Documents (IWDs) are followed or paused when required. You will coordinate construction shift execution by resolving resource conflicts, prioritizing work activities, and deconflicting teams operating in the same rooms or areas. You will enforce LANL’s conduct of operations policies while mentoring and coaching staff. Working closely with Project Managers, you will help define the scope of work for each shift and communicate progress, potential obstacles, and recommended solutions to shift management and senior ALDPI leadership. Additionally, you will contribute to business development efforts by presenting the organization’s capabilities and supporting opportunities for future work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Integrated Safety Management (ISM) by embedding safety into all work, promoting accountability, and fostering open communication and engagement.
  • Advise management on compliance with government regulations, DOE contracts, and Laboratory policies to ensure full adherence.
  • Interpret and provide guidance on project management policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Develop and recommend project management policies, plans, and execution strategies for consistent and effective project delivery.
  • Establish standardized management practices to ensure consistency, knowledge sharing, and alignment across projects.
  • Oversee project performance by monitoring progress, approving key plans and estimates, and ensuring corrective actions are taken.
  • Direct staff and project teams, including delegation of authority, staffing plans, training, and fostering continuous improvement.
  • Ensure coordination across departments, resolving issues promptly and maintaining an integrated project approach.
  • Manage project controls and business functions, including cost estimates, schedules, forecasts, budgets, and client relations.
  • Lead personnel and organizational management, including hiring, performance management, workforce planning, and fostering an inclusive, respectful workplace.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements

Project experience with DOE O 413.3B projects or equivalent. Knowledge of and experience in engineering, procurement, construction, and project turnover. Strong understanding of financial analysis and planning concepts.
  • Collaboration and Coalition Building: Strong experience in developing and nurturing effective internal and external customer relationships. Provide project leadership on issues that require cross‑organizational solutions. Ability to promote an open and informal communication environment, develop mutual trust and teamwork, and facilitate employee self‑development.
  • Personal Leadership: Proven leadership and management in personnel management, customer engagement, and stakeholder management.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills that include reporting on project status to senior level management and project stakeholders.
  • Education / Experience: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 5+ years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
