Job summary

Kalitta Air seeks a Manager of Performance Engineering in Michigan to lead the Performance Engineering team, oversee operations, and align with company policies. The role reports to the Director of Performance Engineering and requires strong leadership and communication.

You will coordinate with the DO, DPE, and other departments, supervise engineers, and drive efficiency while maintaining safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of airline operations experience.
• Three (3) years in a management or leadership position.
• Excellent verbal and written communications; proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assists in managing all aspects of Kalitta Air’s Operations Performance Engineering Department.
• Supervises Performance Engineers and ensures duties are executed properly.
• Acts as liaison between Kalitta Air, vendors, customers, and strategic partners.
• Coordinates with departments to apply best practices for efficient operations.
• Provides briefings to senior management on department status.
• Completes departmental tasks as needed.
• Identifies operational issues and deploys corrective actions as required.

Job Title: Manager of Performance Engineering

Department: Performance Engineering

Reports To: Director of Performance Engineering

Work Schedule: Full Time

Summary:

The Manager of Performance Engineering is responsible for the management and supervision of all Kalitta Air Performance Engineers. Works closely with the DO, DPE, and other departments as necessary, to ensure the department operates safely, efficiently, and in conjunction with company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists in managing all aspects of Kalitta Air’s Operations Performance Engineering Department.
• Supervises Performance Engineers and helps to ensure their duties and responsibilities are executed properly.
• Works as a liaison between Kalitta Air, its vendors, customers, and other strategic partners as required.
• Coordinates with other departments to ensure best practices are utilized for the most efficient operation possible.
• Provides briefings to senior management regarding the status of the Performance Engineering Department.
• Completes departmental tasks, as needed.
• Identifies and/or reacts to operational issues, and deploys corrective actions as required.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED
• College Degree Preferred

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office)
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining accuracy and a positive attitude
• Must be able to work independently and to carry out duties to completion within parameters of instructions given
• Five (5) years of 121 airline operations experience
• Three (3) years in a management or leadership position

Language/ Mathematical Skills

• Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English
