Job summary

Tommy Bahama in Seattle is seeking a Manager of Outlet Merchandising to lead all outlet merchandising decisions, pricing, transfers, and outlet-only programs (SMU). You will work with Inventory, Design, Production and Wholesale to drive high-margin, low-risk assortments and achieve sales and margin budgets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of retail merchandise, financial planning, or business analytics experience.
  • Outstanding technical skills including MS Office.
  • Demonstrates initiative, is conscientious and provides complete follow-through on all areas of responsibility.
  • Able to build and maintain productive relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Effective negotiation and influencing skills with both peers and business partners.

SET THE COURSE

The Manager of Outlet Merchandising is responsible for all merchandising decisions in the Outlet Division which include promotions and pricing, Transfer-to-Outlet allocations (TTO), reporting, Allocation and Replenishment, and development and purchasing of Outlet-only programs (SMU). They will work with the Outlet Inventory Analyst to manage inventory movement and are responsible for achievement of Outlet sales and margin budget.

BE THE ISLAND GUIDE
  • Responsible for monitoring performance against Outlet Financial Budget and adjusting triggers to ensure we meet our budget
  • Responsible for working with Design, Production, Wholesale in the development of a seasonal line plan to develop high margin, low risk SMU product
  • Determine buys for SMU product by style/color/size
  • Determine weekly promotions and pricing strategies for the Outlet and ensure pricing is executed in the POS system
  • Work with Marketing/Creative to determine weekly email messaging for the Outlets
  • Review and approve monthly TTO lists
  • Manage aged inventory by moving to clearance designation and pricing to liquidate to keep Outlets clean
  • Review ATS bulk inventory to determine what product should be moved into Outlet bulks and then into Outlet stores for liquidation
  • Set up seasonal flow for all SMU products
  • Provide merchandising, signage, promotion, pricing, etc. direction to retail ops to ensure that Outlets are correctly executing sales objectives
  • Review Outlet business with Retail Field organization to determine any actions necessary to help stores achieve their monthly sales plans
  • Work with VP on developing and maintaining Financial Plans to project future sales, TTOs, and SMU placements
  • Develop and run reports as necessary to understand Outlet Division performance and analyze data to direct adjustments to on order, store inventories, outlet bulks, pricing, promotions, etc.
  • Provide updates to DTG and Planning management
  • Travel to Outlet locations several times per year to become familiar with each market’s uniqueness and competitive set

  • Education and Certifications, Experience and Skills, Competencies
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Generally, 8+ years of retail merchandise, financial planning, or business analytics experience.
  • Outstanding technical skills including MS Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new processes and procedures and systems.
  • Demonstrates initiative, is conscientious and provides complete follow-through on all areas of responsibility.
  • Able to build and maintain productive relationships with cross-functional teams.

Rate Range: $92,600 - $120,000 Annually
