Walt Disney World is seeking a Mgr-Mechanical & Facility Systems Engineering to lead a team delivering technical support for resort, park, and other facilities. This role also ensures urgent and complex facility issues are resolved quickly and thoroughly, safeguarding guest experiences and operational reliability while aligning sustaining efforts with Disney's strategic priorities.

About the Role: The Mgr-Mechanical & Facility Systems Engineering is a key leader within Disney Experiences, providing functional direction for a team of engineers and specialists who deliver technical support for resort, park, cruise, and other facilities and facility projects across the portfolio. This role also ensures urgent and complex facility issues are resolved quickly and thoroughly, safeguarding guest experiences and operational reliability while aligning sustaining efforts with Disney's strategic priorities.

This position will report to the Senior Manager-Programs-Project Design Support.

Responsibilities

This leader oversees a team of technical professionals and responds to urgent and non-urgent facility requests, driving root-cause analysis and final resolution across complex building mechanical systems. Partnering closely with Engineering Services, FAM Design Managers and other business leaders, the Mgr-Mechanical & Facility Systems sets priorities, supports sustaining & project portfolios, and resource plans that keep Disney's theme parks, resorts, cruise experiences, and other assets operating safely and reliably for guests from around the world. Success in this role requires a knowledgeable specialist and strategic leader who can prioritize effectively, mentor technical professionals, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver rapid, high-quality technical solutions.

• Lead and develop a team of engineers and architects while remaining actively engaged in resolving complex sustaining challenges, providing technical leadership and hands-on support to ensure timely closure of facility issues.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor, contributing directly to root cause analyses, system evaluations, and reliability improvement efforts across HVAC, MEP, and other critical facility systems.
• Balance organizational leadership with active project involvement by setting priorities, allocating resources, and personally supporting high-impact sustaining and project initiatives across Disney Experiences.
• Drive accountability for support outcomes by establishing effective closeout processes, ensuring facility owners receive complete technical solutions, documentation, and long-term recommendations.
• Shape departmental strategy and operational priorities while helping teams translate business objectives into practical, executable solutions.
• Build organizational capability through coaching, mentorship, and knowledge sharing, developing technical depth and leadership skills by working alongside team members and leading by example.
• Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and customer-focused problem solving by combining strategic leadership with day-to-day engagement in the team's most critical challenges.
• Partner across Operations, Engineering Services, and other disciplines to align sustaining strategies, share best practices, and deliver consistent, enterprise-wide solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Licensed Architect or Professional Engineering (PE) license in Florida or in a state with reciprocity to Florida.
• 10+ years of professional experience in a multi-discipline architecture/engineering environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of sustaining engineering practices for complex facilities, including troubleshooting, problem resolution, and system reliability improvement for ride, show, and building systems.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with multiple lines of business in reactive, fast-paced environments while effectively prioritizing work and managing stakeholder expectations.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols applicable to facilities and construction environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Autodesk Revit and Forma or similar design and documentation tools.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical peers and executives and consolidate information into clear, strategic messaging.
• Proven success building, mentoring, and leading high-performing, diverse teams in a collaborative, service-minded environment.

Education

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture, Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Business Administration.
• Five or more years leading project or organizational teams with salaried direct reports.
• Experience in themed entertainment, hospitality, or complex campus facilities environments that integrate multi-discipline design, operations, and sustaining engineering teams.
• Active participation in professional organizations related to architecture, engineering, or facilities management to stay current with industry trends and best practices.

The hiring range for this position in Florida is $120,800.00-$161,900.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
