• Advanced proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, market research platforms and subscriptions; AI tools; collaboration tools.

SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking a Manager of Market Intelligence who will develop and deliver market, economic, and competitive insights that help guide executive decisions, long-term planning, and business development. This role leads complex research and market assessment work, translates findings into clear business implications, and develops executive-level reports and presentations. The Manager works closely with the Senior Manager of Market Intelligence and leaders across Mortenson to support informed decision‑making.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead market assessments and research aligned with strategic business needs
• Develop executive‑level insights on market, economic, and competitive dynamics
• Collaborate with leaders to integrate market perspectives into planning
• Analyze economic trends and construction‑specific indicators
• Monitor and interpret competitor strategies and market shifts
• Assess industry consolidation and M&A activity
• Analyze public company earnings reports and investor materials for relevant market signals
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to evaluate markets and opportunities
• Develop executive‑level reports and presentations

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Market Research, or related field
• Minimum 5-7 years in market intelligence, market research, consulting, industry analysis, or related work
• Experience leading complex research initiatives and presenting to senior leadership
• Strong business judgement and ability to connect market signals to business implications
• Skilled in quantitative and qualitative research and synthesis of multiple information sources
• Experience with market assessments, competitive intelligence, economic analysis, or industry research
• Advanced proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, market research platforms and subscriptions, AI‑driven tools, and collaboration tools; adaptability in learning new technologies
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for executive audiences
• Strong listening skills and openness to diverse feedback
• Understanding of construction industry dynamics, trends, and regulations
• Current driver's license
• Ability to travel up to 10%

The base pay range for this role is $105,300 - $158,000. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
