    Position Description

    As a Manager of Facilities Design team, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

    • Lead and supervise a project team, ensuring timely completion of key deliverables and meeting deadlines
    • Collaborate with external consultant engineering and architectural design teams to ensure the production of creative and high-quality outcomes
    • Fulfill process design requests by coordinating with team members, gathering information, conducting measurements, and creating reports and as-built drawings
    • Interpret customer requirements and translate them into design criteria that comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and relevant standards for Applied Medical facilities
    • Conduct site measurements to accurately assess existing conditions
    • Demonstrate proficiency in construction detailing and drawing conventions
    • Utilize AutoCAD to prepare construction drawing
    • Work closely with Facilities team members to oversee the design, landscaping, maintenance, and space planning aspects of Applied Medical buildings
    • Chair and facilitate design team meetings
    • Collaborate with Design and Engineering teams and external stakeholders to develop permitted drawing packages and provide analysis and schedules to ensure compliance with internal protocols
    • Evaluate and analyze potential changes or red lines related to drawing updates in coordination with Operations, Design, and Construction teams before archiving them in accordance with Applied Medical's policies
    • Monitor project progression and provide regular reports on the status
    • Review permitted construction documents for accuracy and adherence to specifications
    • Effectively plan and organize personal time and workspace
    Position Requirements

    This position requires the following skills and attributes:

    • Minimum of five years of design experience with a successful track record in managing design projects
    • Minimum of five years of relevant work experience in managing development or design
    • Thorough understanding and application of building codes
    • Proficient in navigating, reading, and interpreting construction documents with attention to detail and accuracy
    • Advanced skills in AutoCAD and other relevant design software, producing high-quality design deliverables
    • Exceptional customer service skills, quickly understanding customers' needs and asking solution-focused questions to provide excellent service
    • Solid understanding of industrial processes and workflows to effectively design solutions that meet clients' needs and expectations
    • Foundational knowledge of industrial and manufacturing facilities, laboratories, cleanrooms, warehouses, and office building improvements to deliver comprehensive design solution
    • Experience in using standard measuring equipment to ensure precision and accuracy in design implementation
    Benefits

    The base compensation range for this role is $80000 - $110000 / year for the position in California. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries in California based on the date of this job posting. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range compensation package during your hiring process.
