Manages daily operations of the department responsible for providing environmental services, ensuring alignment of operations with organizational objectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Five (5) years of housekeeping experience with three (3) years of previous supervisory duties.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establishes and maintains high expectations for cleanliness and ensures all job assignments are completed while conforming to standards.
- Develops housekeeping staff through hiring, training, performance management, employee relations, and coaching.
- Develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures for cleaning of the building to maintain high expectations for facility cleanliness.
- Investigates and addresses escalated complaints regarding poor housekeeping service.
- Maintains relationships with external vendors and internal departments.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have physical ability to perform cleaning tasks such as mopping, reaching and bending and operating floor equipment such as vacuum cleaners, autoscrubbers, buffers, etc.
- Must meet Department of Labor's Heavy Duty Standard.
- Capable of wearing appropriate PPE for an extended period of time.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids and different types of cleaning chemicals.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to be scheduled for work based on operational needs of the hospital.
- Possesses the ability to deal tactfully and harmoniously with guests.
- Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of assigned areas, necessary supplies and equipment.
- Must be able to read and follow written work assignments.
