Job summary

The Wonderful Company seeks a Manager of Engineering (Building Maintenance and Capital Projects) to lead regional operations for seven office properties in the Rancho Cordova area. You will drive 10-year R&M forecasting, budgeting, CAFs, PM programs, and capital planning while standardizing processes across the portfolio.

You will evaluate systems, coordinate assessments, and oversee vendors, with mentoring responsibility for engineers and technicians.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of facilities maintenance, building engineering, or engineering operations experience.
• Experience leading maintenance and engineering across multiple commercial properties.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, elevators, fire/life safety, structural systems, and building finishes.
• Experience with capital planning, budget forecasting, PM program development, and asset lifecycle management.
• Proficiency with CMMS and maintenance analytics tools.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and mentor staff.
• OSHA 30 Certification required; trade certifications to evaluate scopes.

• Lead regional engineering operations for a portfolio of 7 office buildings totaling 615,000 sq ft in the Sacramento area.
• Develop and manage 10-year repair and maintenance forecasts, annual budgets, and capital planning.
• Prepare and obtain approval for CAFs, PM plans, schedules, and engineering proposals.
• Standardize PM scopes, schedules, and documentation across the region.
• Evaluate building systems and asset life cycles to support planning and investments.
• Coordinate engineering assessments and present recommendations to management.
• Oversee vendor performance, project execution, site access, and safety compliance.
• Maintain accurate records of assets, maintenance activities, and vendor reports.
• Mentor Maintenance Engineers and Technicians without direct supervision.

The Manager of Engineer oversees technical documentation, budgeting, vendor performance, and long-term facility health across the region, as well as mentors Engineers and Maintenance Technicians.## Job Description* Lead regional engineering operations for a portfolio of7 office buildings totaling 615,000 square feet in the Sacramento market which is part of a larger portfolio of 44+ office and warehouse properties spanning more than 10 million square feet.* Develop and manage 10-year repair and maintenance (R&M) forecasts, annual budgets, and capital planning for building systems across the region.* Prepare, track, and obtain management approval for Capital Approval Forms (CAFs), preventive maintenance (PM) plans, inspection schedules, and engineering proposals.* Develop, maintain, and standardize preventive maintenance scopes, schedules, documentation, and practices across the regional portfolio.* Evaluate building systems, equipment condition, and asset life cycles to support maintenance planning, capital investments, and long-term forecasting.* Coordinate engineering assessments and present recommendations to property management and leadership.* Oversee vendor performance, project execution, site access, and compliance with safety and operational standards.* Maintain accurate records of building assets, maintenance activities, vendor reports, and repair timelines.* Serve as a technical mentor and resource for Maintenance Engineers and Maintenance Technicians without direct supervisory responsibility.## Qualifications* 10+ years of progressive experience in facilities maintenance, building engineering, or engineering operations.* Proven experience leading maintenance and engineering operations across multiple commercial properties.* Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, elevators, fire/life safety systems, structural systems, and building finishes.* Experience with capital planning, budget forecasting, preventive maintenance program development, and asset lifecycle management.* Proficiency with CMMS platforms and maintenance reporting/analytics tools.* Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, mentor engineering staff, and manage vendor performance.* Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and strategic planning skills.* OSHA 30 Certification required.* Relevant trade certification(s) required to evaluate and approve technical scopes of work.* Facilities Management Administrator (FMA) Certification or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred.* Primary responsibility is supporting the Rancho Cordova market, with the ability to travel up to 25% outside of the Sacramento region as business needs require.Pay Range: $110,000 - $130,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
