Job description

The Manager of Credentialing for USPI Ambulatory Surgery Centers serves as a liaison between USPI credentialing, the practitioners and the ASC. This includes initiating the application process, auditing of files, obtaining appropriate approvals/signatures and communication to applicant and ASC regarding privileges. The Manager will also develop and lead MD-Staff training presentations for the ASC leaders required to review/approve applications, as well as become an MD-Staff certified user.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison between USPI credentialing and the Ambulatory Surgery Center management team
  • Initiate the Determination of Eligibility/Initial Application process for new applicants
  • Conduct audit of completed applications released by the CVO to ensure completeness, highlight red flags, etc. prior to Center Manager and Medical Director review
  • Facilitate approval signatures from required signees, i.e., Medical Director, USPI leadership, etc.
  • Facilitate notification letters to applicant, ASC, etc.
  • Develop and lead MD-Staff training presentations to ASC Medical Directors, Center Manages and others that will be required to log-in to MD-Staff to review, recommend, and/or approve applicants for privileges.
  • Provide assistance to applicants/admins regarding the credentialing process or with any technical issues, as needed.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of related education and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a central verification office, hospital or managed care setting
  • Certification by MD-Staff as a MD-Staff Certified Specialist or become certified within 3 years
  • Advanced knowledge regarding the credentialing process and components, i.e., Determination of Eligibility Application, Initial Application, Reappointment Application, Privilege Delineation and Expirables.
  • Knowledge of healthcare accreditation standards, i.e.., The Joint Commission (TJC) Standards, Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Care (AAAHC), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Conditions of Participation (COP) and DNV Accreditation.
  • Knowledge of the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Medical Staff Bylaws & Rules/Regulations
  • Strong knowledge and skillset with AMS MD-Staff credentialing platform
  • Strong computer skills, i.e., Microsoft Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Knowledge of Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) credentialing approval process
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to lead training presentations
  • Ability to work in a positive and professional manner with applicants, admins, Tenet CVO Credentialing Team and Tenet and USPI Management Teams
  • Ability to work at the USPI Corporate Office in Nashville, and remotely as deemed necessary
  • Ability to travel as deemed necessary

Preferred:

  • Certification by MD-Staff as a MD-Staff Certified Expert
  • Certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Service as either a CPCS or CPMSM

Compensation

  • Pay: $70,000-$85,000 annually. Compensation depends on location, qualifications, and experience.
  • Position may be eligible for an Annual Incentive Plan bonus of 10%-25% depending on role level.
  • Management level positions may be eligible for sign-on and relocation bonuses.
