Qualifications

• 5+ years in business analysis, systems analysis, or claims configuration.
• Hands-on leadership of configuration/claims systems teams.
• Strong understanding of payer operations and claims processing.
• SQL or equivalent data querying skills.
• Able to act as working SME for complex system questions.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Configuration Services team end-to-end from requirements intake through production deployment.
• Serve as the technical escalation point for configuration issues across all lines of business.
• Oversee vendor performance, SLAs, budgeting, and prioritization.
• Design workflows, protocols, and process models for the configuration team.
• Ensure compliance with the SDLC and change management process.
• Build and maintain reporting on SLA metrics, testing, quality, and documentation.
• Coordinate across project management, production support, and business solutions teams.
• Coach, mentor, and develop staff.

HealthTECH is seeking a Manager of Configuration Services to lead the team responsible for claims system configuration, deployment, and ongoing operational improvement at a Rhode Island-based health plan.

This is a hands‑on leadership role. The organization has undergone significant systems transformation over the past 18 months, consolidating from two claims payer platforms to one, in‑sourcing behavioral health claims processing, launching new lines of business, and migrating editing and pricing functions into a new platform. The configuration team needs a manager who can be the technical anchor for the group, not just an administrative lead. You will oversee the full configuration lifecycle, manage vendor relationships and SLAs, drive process improvement, and serve as the go‑to subject matter resource your team can lean on when things get complex.

This position is contract‑to‑hire, onsite near Providence, Rhode Island

What You’ll Do

• Manage the Configuration Services team end to end, from requirements intake through production deployment.

What You Bring

• Hands‑on HealthRules Payor experience (required)
• Experience managing a configuration or claims systems team
• Strong understanding of claims adjudication, benefit plan configuration, and payer operations
• SQL or equivalent data querying skills
• Ability to serve as a working SME, not just a people manager, for complex system questions
• 5+ years in business analysis, systems analysis, or claims configuration
• 3+ years in managed care or healthcare

Preferred

• HealthEdge Source experience (editing and pricing)
• Experience managing vendor relationships in a mixed‑model staffing environment (onshore, offshore, FTE)
• JIRA, Cognos, Visio experience
• Experience in a non‑profit health plan or Medicaid managed care setting
